The Bomb

Written with my iPad Notes App

Clearly, I love to write and I hope you’re not too let down at the outcome of this one. But, before we get started, the late great Ernest Hemingway once said “A writer should write what he has to say and not speak it.” So here we go: Continue reading

Some of my fondest memories occurred when my two daughters were very young. Also there we’re some memories that are not so good that were real learning experiences for both me and my daughters. The following memory falls into the learning experience category. Continue reading

The Cannibals

Written with my iPad Notes App

Since I love to write and the Notes pad on the iPad is so easy to use from my recliner, I thought I’d revisit Notes in “iPad Notes App Part 2”. I use Notes to write all my emails because it is so easy. I write the email notes and edit them for mistakes in Notes. Then I hit the small square with the arrow pointing up at the top of the page. I select mail and the note goes into email format ready to add “to” addresses and “cc” addresses. So I send all my emails in a very comfortable position. Continue reading

Miscues and the Cuties

Miscues and the Cuties

Seniors can always find something interesting and fun to do. My wife and I helped start an exhibition clog team. Initially the goal was to get some much needed exercise and to entertain some of the special groups such as nursing homes in our free time, but it developed into to much more than that. I would encourage all seniors to get into some activities such as this as it will give you much enjoyment and you will love it. Here is our story. Continue reading

Dancing with the Stars

I have heard stories of others having the good fortune of running into famous stars and getting to meet them, but I didn’t think it would ever happen to us. What actually happened was beyond anything I could have imagined. Here’s the story. Continue reading

Via Safari Web Browser on my iPad

I use the Safari Web Browser daily for all the usual reasons, but probably the thing I do most on the Internet is shop. I am a member of Amazon Prime so I get free shipping on most things I get from Amazon. This makes the prices very competitive with local retail stores. I don’t get around so good anymore, so shopping from my recliner is of considerable value to me. I have found Amazon to be totally reliable and they nearly always deliver to my front porch on time. My wife owns a Kindle and we have purchased a lot of books for her to read of her Kindle. I ran across the Kindle App when app surfing in the Apple App Store and down loaded it. All of the books that I had previously purchased from Amazon miraculously appeared on the Kindle App on my iPad. Also, each time I purchase Continue reading

iPad Games

I prefer Games that challenge your intelligence a little. Although I have tried many of the game apps available, I prefer the Zynga Poker app for daily play. I play the play money version of Texas Hold Em. I started out with 4000 free chips and have played my way up to 10,000,000 chips. Generally, I play at least an hour a day. It’s fun and I get to play with real people from all over the world. The orientals play nearly every hand going “all in”,

I can hear you now, how can a senior citizen derive enjoyment from Notes on the iPad? I find that my creative juices flow better if I am sitting in my big boy recliner with my feet up and my iPad sitting on my stomach. So when I’m feeling like I want to generate something that might be worth sharing, I turn on the iPad and begin to write.
