The Early Years Growing Up
Out in the Texas Panhandle town called Phillips,
Is where I was born as I made my very first trip.
This documents my young life traveling the USA,
And life until and after we were back at Phillips to stay. Continue reading
Fun Through The Years
I scanned through an old photo book I found yesterday,
And pulled out a few old pictures in there along my way.
We had lots of fun in these moments captured in time,
That I have written about in this story poem blog of mine.
I’m so glad we took lots of pictures through the long years,
As they bring back special memories and some joy tears.
I think this is the reason I use pictures to help tell my story,
As I remember all the good times we had with all their glory. Continue reading
Hawg Jaw Rebounds
It has now been a month since I wrote a Hawg Jaw blog,
Since it was my birthday month, I did well without the Hawg.
I have gotten a little bit restless since March came around,
And have written another story poem blog on the rebound. Continue reading
A Secret Place
When we first moved to Stark Street, I had a secret place,
That I went to hide in when someone upset my life’s race.
No one knew about my secret place, that I had back then,
But I guess I’ll tell you now about that place I did hide in. Continue reading
When our girls were in high school and college learning,
I cooked fine meals for the family as they waited yearning.

Candy Bars Back Then
Back when I was a whipper snapper cute as I could be,
I loved candy bars my Mom and Dad often bought for me.
I have compiled a list of my favorite at age 6 to 8 for you,
In this story poem to see If you may agree with me too.
As I recall, most candy bars cost 5 cents back at that time,
And they were much bigger then which made them so fine.
I guess it is just a way of the world we live in for this trend,
To make products smaller and then charge more for them. Continue reading
Learning To Be Daddy
When our Kristi was born, I suddenly became a dad,
I had no idea what was coming, but I was so very glad,
To have a beautiful new born little girl of our very own.
This daddy life was new to me as we went on home. Continue reading
Bait Fishing Then Versus Now
My Dad was a fisherman there most certainly is no doubt,
And I fished a whole lot with him as we were out and about.
We fished in our home area lakes near Phillips quite a lot,
And on our vacations in Sulphur Springs area so very hot. Continue reading
Things That Did It For Me
What is “it”?, I feel you thinking as you just start to read,
“It” is what gives you a great “feels so right” feeling, indeed.
Over the years, there were “Things That Did It For Me”,
And in this story poem I’ll share some for you to see. Continue reading
My How Fast They Have Grown
We were there for the births of all of our grandchildren,
And it seems like a short while ago that we first saw Ben.
I recall seeing him through the window with the nurses,
Looking so handsome back before I wrote these verses.
Luke came next, then Sarah, and finally Zack did then arrive.
Since they were born, they’ve grown a lot being so very alive.
I was looking through old Christmas cards we did receive,
I included in this story poem blog to help me to conceive. Continue reading
