Wood Bees To Family

Wood Bees To Family

.

I noticed last week the wood bees were back again,
They were swarming all over my patio what a sin.
The wood bees eat holes in my wooden cedar beams,
Weakening my home’s supporting structure, it seems.

In the holes that they drill, they lay an egg that hatches,
And next year, a new crop of bees come out in batches.
I have poisoned them in the holes a few times in the past,
But the neighbors bees just move back in so very fast.

Watch out guys, Hawg Jaw is armed with a badminton racquet.

I keep some game racquets hanging out on the patio,
To swat those wood bees buzzing around so bold.
They buzz around like tiny helicopters darting in and out,
Sometimes chasing each other to mate, no doubt.

That racquet with the long handle gives me more reach.

I grabbed my badminton racquet and began my campaign,
In my first hour, I gave 25 wood bees some severe pain,
Swatting them out of the air standing still if you please.
As they buzz in close enough for me to swat with ease.

Wow, home run.  I knocked that one clear out to the street.

On two occasions one bee was pursuing another bee,
Close enough to get a double kill with one swat from me.
This was kind of exciting for an old duck hunter guy,
Getting two sure kills with one shot on a single try.

I got two with one swat, swinging just in the right spot.

My daughter Kristi’s family came over the other day,
And planted Pam flowers on the patio for Mother’s Day.
The wood bees were buzzing all around out there,
And I swatted a few more wood bees with much care.

Kristi and Sarah planting Mom’s flowers with care.

The flowers Kristi and Sarah planted were just beautiful,
As they filled that rock planter box all the way full.
While Ben and I sat on the bench acting a bit crazy,
While watching them sitting there just being so lazy.

Those girls are doing a good job, huh Ben

On Mother’s Day Kristi’s family came to take Pam out,
To dinner to celebrate her as a fine Mother no doubt.
We went out on the patio again for pictures with her flowers,
For Pam’s long history with her loving Mother power.

Happy Mother’s Day, aren’t  the flowers pretty.

My grandson Ben wanted to give swatting bees a try,
So he grabbed a racket and hit several on the fly.
While out there, we all fooled around having some fun
Ben even talked Pam into climbing a tree on the run.

Come on down out of that tree old woman.

On Mother’s Day we decided to take a family photo,
All feeling frisky like a reindeer named Rudolf, I know.
It was a lot of fun cutting up out there on the patio,
With those flowers to look at for a beautiful show.

Carl, your nose is glowing.

I kind of drifted from a problem with buzzing wood bees,
To Family fun out on the patio acting kind of silly.
I guess we always try to forget about all of our problems,
By moving to family and fun things we do with them.
