Waj Gwah

Waj Gwah

This is just a silly little story poem probably not worth your time,
So please don’t read it unless you’re drinking a fine red wine,
As it is what I call a bit of very dry humor only for very high I Q’s.
Now that I’ve got your attention, you must read it or you lose.

Waj Gwah

There once was a boy named Waj Gwah that lived on a farm,
He loved the animals and worked hard to keep them from harm,
His very favorite animal was a big sheep dog he named Flow.
Flow followed closely behind Waj Gwah where ever he did go.

.

.

.

Waj Gwah’s mother was always worried about his strange ways,
She just didn’t understand the way he acted during work days.
He liked to walk backwards as he did his many farm chores.
And he seemed to do every thing in the exact reverse order.

Mom, Waj Gwah is walking backwards again..

.

.

.

.

She talked and begged and pleaded with him to stop doing that,
But her words just seemed to roll off like water on a ducks back.
The bad part was that his dog Flow was acting backwards too.
She had come to the point that she didn’t know just what to do.

Well look at that, Flow is running backwards again..

.

.

..

She consulted a young “shrink” who’s name was Doctor Casey,
Who talked to the boy an hour a week, but the facts were hazy.
Finally, he found out that Waj Gwah was ashamed of his name,
And this backwards thing to him was just part of his little game.

.

.

.

His Mom asked Casey, “How then can I turn him back around?”
The Doctor said ” I think the right answer I found is very sound
The Doc said “it’s simple, you see, you must change his name.”
“And you must change it so he feels it is part of his little game.”

.

.

.

“He thinks he must do everything backwards so reverse his name,
He will feel like he is straightened out and will quit playing the game.”
So his Mom changed his name to Hawg Jaw and it fixed him right up,
Waj Gwah was gone and his life was straightened up, out of his rut.

.

.

.

Hawg Jaw reversed his dogs name to Wolf and he was okay too,
They both lived a normal live from that day on as they grew.
Hawg Jaw became a fine engineer and raised a happy family,
Wolf went on to be a police dog chasing those bad guys up trees.

.

.

.

I wonder how many of you figured this out just from the title alone.
If you did, just let me know and I’ll throw you one of Wolf’s bones.
There is a lesson in there for all to heed as your family you raise,
If you didn’t get it, I’ll spell it out in the next verses fine phrase.

.

.

.

If you have a child that seems backwards in his ways to you,
Get them some help and they will surely make it through too.
When they grow up, you will surely be so very proud of them.
As they grow old, they may even write these silly poems by then.
