Pam’s Big Five O

Pam’s Big Five 0

.
When Pam turned 50, I wanted to have her a big bash.
So I rented the Tuxedo Lions Club Building for $100 cash.
We invited friends from All three of our dancing troops,
The Aces, The Misques, and The Mickey Mouse Group.

I made 8 1/2″ by 11″ prints of the old dance groups three.
And put them on the walls on the Lions Club for all to see.
It made a very nice display of Pam and all her friends at play.
And made inexpensive decorations to enjoy on her birthday.

I bought four cases of beer and put it on ice to get cold,
And some Bourbon, Rum, Scotch, all a full 10 years old,
With all kinds of mixers and ice set up on a very fine bar.
All to celebrate Pam’s 50th birthday with her as the star.

I set up my clogging sound system at the front of the room.
With two tables for my 45 rpm records for sound that booms.
There was a big cake in back for all to see there on display,
With two four foot sandwiches for snacks along the way.

I set up 8 tables in the back in the shape of a square,
So you could get a good view of everyone that was there.
And we were ready to receive guests to her party that night.
Every single person we invited showed up to start things righ

When our guests came in we had that country music going.
And once we got going there would be no party slowing.
We had music for everyone that was there having so much fun.
As we all hit that dance floor to begin the Pam party run.

We started off slow with two stepping around the floor,
For the first hour just getting warmed up for what was in store.
We were all getting a little loose by now so we started to clog.
We clog danced fast for a hour or so just working like dogs.

By now that beer was going down fine as we formed squares,
And square danced whooping and hollering looking so fair.
As we do si doed and promenaded then swung those gals,
Then floated the boat followed by a left alamand with old Sal.

We were all feeling good so we stopped and sang to Pam,
Happy Birthday as she was opening her gifts under a fan.
We all had some cake and a sandwich or two for energy,
And visited with each other sitting until about 10 thirty

Then this guy with a black short sleeve leather vest and pants,
Came walking through the door strutting, asking for Pam.
He grabbed a chair and sat Pam down dancing all around,
To music he played moving slowly to that funky music sound.

Pam was red as a beet as he stripped out of his black clothes,
Until all he had left was a goober pouch and straps with holes.
Those movements he made looked so strange in my mind,
But everyone loved the show as he touched Pam from behind.

That strange looking dude that was there for a short while,
Cost me a $100 for about 10 minutes as he went a little wild.
But it was fun to watch although Pam wasn’t too impressed,
When that stripper man danced around as he undressed.

We were all charged up so we started a line dance like we did,
With two lines of people with the lead couple strutting like kids,
As they danced down the middle with both sides a clapping,
To “Funky Broadway” with the lead couples feet just a tapping.

We did the Beatles “Twist and Shout” looking cool moving about.
And Chubby Checkers “Limbo Rock” getting real low no doubt.
And we did the “Fred Shuffle” many times during the long night.
When Pam had her 50th birthday party, we did it up right.

Happy Birthday Pam.
