MaMo’s Picture Pile

MaMo’s Picture Pile

.

In a shoebox in Kristi’s old room I found the other day,
Was a little pile of pictures MaMo Barringer put away.
They were wrapped in a little red bow as cute as can be,
As they must of been favorites of hers she left us to see.

MaMo loved her little Leo so I was not surprised to find him in the pile.

As I looked closely at them, most were familiar to me,
So I thought I would share them in here for all to see.
The first two were pictures of her 50th wedding anniversary,
One was of the cake and the other was their close family.

I think I may have taken these pictures.

The next picture was taken at the VA dance hall,
In Caney, Kansas, as we went out and she had a ball,
Two stepping with Buffalo Bob to a live country band.
She loved dancing around that floor feeling so grand.

Bobby you dance so smoothly to that country music.

The next picture is MaMo in a new spiffy outfit she loved,
That seemed to make her feel young as it fit like a glove.
She wore that outfit for special occasions at times,
Like eating out at Sutphens Barbecue so very fine.

What do you think Pam?

MaMo loved Christmas, always dressing up so nice,
And especially unwrapping the gifts that did her entice.
Just look at those hands all clamped together tight,
And that big beautiful smile as she can hardly wait.

Can I start opening them now?

MaMo kept this picture as I ask her to take a quick look,
As I showed her the big sausage I was fixing to cook,
For breakfast one morning when she stayed with us,
Kind of acting silly teasing her so she would then fuss.

Get that thing in the pan!

MaMo had a green thumb and loved to grow flowers.
We took a lot of pictures out there in the spring hours.
She loved working outdoors in her garden in style,
I guess that’s why she kept these in her special pile.

How nice her garden always did look.

One summer we took MaMo to Silver Dollar City park,
As I promised to push her in a wheel chair from the start.
I think MaMo loved it more than the rest of us did,
In fact, she had more fun than all of our own kids.

Let’s head on in there Bill. Get this wagon moving.

MaMo had several pictures of family around her home,
As she loved to have company when we all did roam.
She always took good care of us out there in Borger,
We loved her cooking and her house was in perfect order.

.

There was a picture of 3 Rhythm Aces bulls there too.
I guess she had a soft spot for the big bull she knew.
She had watched Misques perform here a time or two,
And she couldn’t believe I could move that fast all through.

I always did think Bill was so full of bull.

Lastly, there was a picture of her with her family so fine,
MaMo is sitting with sister Opal and brother Fred behind.
They were in MaMo’s home in Borger spending time,
She was very close to her family who were all so kind.

Some of my long time family.
