My daughter Kristi met Carl at a camp job she did take,
As a girl’s summer camp counselor on the Fort Gibson Lake.
Carl was maintaining the camp, living in a trailer there,
And Kristi knew then her life with him she would share.
So Pam and I got to know Carl very well after that job,
As they spent a lot of time together as close heart throbs.
We liked Carl and he traveled with us a lot for a time,
Leaving his old pick up truck parked here which was fine.
It wasn’t too long before they got married living as one,
As Kristi was still in OSU working on her degree on the run.
They looked so cute together with Carl’s baby face,
Always running to make ends meet at a very fast pace.
Kristi got her degree and Carl was there with us that day,
As we celebrated for her together feeling so gay.
Watching her walk across that stage there on her way.
Ready to put that college degree to work come what may.
Kristi and Carl both got better jobs loving each other,
And we still vacationed with them sometimes together.
I taught Carl the Fred Shuffle dance at B. T. Bones,
And occasionally we went out two stepping while gone.
We met Carl’s Brothers who with him were very close,
As was all the Taylor Clan as together they did pose.
Most of us have traditional dinners together on Holidays,
And at times we play trivia after dinner along the way.
By the way, Carl is a pretty good cook helping with meals,
During the holidays, he grabs his apron at Kristi’s appeal,
And cooks up a storm while looking so very alive,
He’s also pretty good cooking steaks on the grill outside.
Ben came along and we all took a trip to Grand Lake,
Fishing at a resort called Lee’s on an outing we did take.
Carl and I fished very near our cabin off of the shore,
I’m afraid my fish was a little bigger by a foot or more.
Sarah came along and Carl was a very proud dad again,
What a close family they became over the years then.
Always doing everything together living their lives,
In a loving home with a church foundation that jives.
Carl always participates with Sarah on Daddy night.
Going out to dance or date, dressing up just right.
Spending quality time together during the night out.
As Daddy and Daughter loved the adventure, no doubt.
Carl takes Ben out deer hunting as the season begins,
All decked out in their orange hunting gear again.
Both Ben and Carl got a deer this last year from the blind,
What a great Dad teaching his son skills of that kind.
Carl always participates in his kids activities galore.
There’s football, dancing, singing, and so many more.
I don’t think he’s missed a single event from the start,
He always glows with pride as they perform their art.
Carl has two good old dogs that he thinks a lot of too.
There’s both Scout and Roscoe that love Carl so true.
When Carl uses his stern voice, they do what he commands,
And you can tell they respect him because he’s their man.
Remember when I showed you Ben was a little silly,
He may have learned that from Dad, not old Billy.
Take a look at these candid pictures of Carl a cooking,
Acting a bit silly at home when no one was a looking.
You can tell by what I have written down in here.
That Carl is a fine husband and father that is clear.
Carl helps us out a lot up here in Bartlesville at times,
So we love you man as you can tell in this little rhyme.
Thanks for reading Carl,
