Beavers Bend Friday

Beavers Bend Friday

.
It’s time for our annual trip to Broken Bow Lake today,
We are all ready to do some summer activities and play.
Saturday will be a very busy day here on our short stay,
So here’s what happened after we arrivied on this Friday.

Beavers Bend Friday

.

We headed on down to Beavers Bend today to go play,
We rode with Carl, Kristi, Ben, and Sarah all of the way.
It was a very good trip because I didn’t have to drive,
Traveling like this is great being so rested when we arrive.

.When we got to our Mountain Vista cabin there in the hills,
We unloaded the Van and Carl started steaks on the grill,
When he was attacked by a red wasp flying that arose,
From a nest and drove a stinger in the side of Carl’s nose.

imageRed wasp, you stung the wrong nose this time.

Carl jumped around and knocked his glasses off his face,
As he felt pain as that poison into his system did race.
He applied medicine fast to that sting there on his nose,
But soon his nose was red all over as big swelling arose.

What a painful experience to start off a fun weekend at Beavers Bend.

Kristi finished those steaks tonight that were oh so good,
With grilled corn and baked potatoes, such real fine food.
As Carl held an ice pack on his very swollen sore snout,
Carl ate dinner and I think was feeling better, no doubt.

I appreciate your pointers Dad, but I’ve done this a few times before.

As he fixed a big fire out back for the kids to fix s’mores,
In the fire pit out there by the cabin in the great outdoors.
Carl just came in and said he could hear the whipper wills,
Singing their lonesome song out in the dark on the hills.

Did you hear that lonesome Whipper Will?”

The kids all hit the hot tun here after dinner with the group,
Right now they are a happy loud young splashing troop.
In a few minutes, I will read them the bedtime story poem.
That I wrote called “Sniper Bill Tale” last week for them.
