The Many Faces Of Darena

The Many Faces Of Darena

.
Darena is my wife’s sister that we have been close to for years,
She has been notorious for changing her look drastically I fear.
I love to tease Darena which she takes quite well with no anger,
This poem describes the faces of Darena, should I feel any danger?

The Many Faces Of Darena

.

When Darena was a young lady looking so fine in her prime,
She looked like Connie Francis with that beach bunny hair line.
Those horn rimmed glasses looked so cute there on her face.
She was always looking for the “Where The Boys Are” place.

Then she switched to Dolly Pardon with that long blonde hair.
Her boobs were smaller, but her wiggles brought the big stares.
She could strut her stuff walking down that street for the boys,
Sometimes wearing that “Coat Of Many Colors” for her own joy.

Sometimes she became Aunt Jemima her husband to please.
Cooking up those blueberry hot cakes and maple syrup with ease.
As she stood over that hot stove singing a very old time song.
“Mammys Little Baby Loves Shortening Bread” so very strong.

Sometimes she was Little Orphan Annie with her dog by her side,
They were together all the time as down life’s road they did ride.
They primarily lived for today having much fun along the way.
Then they begin to think of “Tommorrow” instead of just play.

After that spell she became a wild and wooly Cher just so loose.
Thinking she was a flower child with a flower bouquet to choose.
She wore those wild colored clothes so tight around the butt,
And sang a duet with her man, “It Ain’t Me Babe”, as she did strut.

Next she became Sue Ellen Ewing, but her husband was RC not JR.
She talked with a deep southern drawl when she went to the bar.
Now with those very slow deliberate moves swinging to and fro.
At the Southfork of Fritch, not “Dallas”, this I surely do know.

A new face for Darena was Chiquita Banana in a big sombrero,
Singing that “Banana Boat Song” drinking tequila shots to go.
“Come Mr Tally Man, Tally Me Banana” she sings so loudly now.
“Daylight Come And I Wan Go Home” sounding like a happy cow.

Darena then changed to Ellen Degeneres with that little smirk,
And short hair that is her trade mark there on the show at work.
She started acting silly doing things so very strange each day,
And started singing “Pink” as her theme song in a straight way.

The next face will be Darena as Roseanne Conner acting up.
She was picking and rolling those boogies while we did sup.
I don’t think any of us there liked this side of our special lady.
She said ” Men are not dogs, Dogs are loyal.” being a little crazy.

Finally, we see her as Grandma Walton up on that big mountain,
Wrinkles are showing as she has not yet found the youth fountain.
She’s looking quite peaceful as she gets ready to go to bed,
We hear “Good Night John Boy,” as the very last thing she said.
