Santa Claus Is The Real Deal

Santa Claus Is The Real Deal

.

I think when we are growing older we wonder about Saint Nick.
How can he get around to see everyone in one night, is it a trick?
This poem investigates some of the questions I had as a kid.
And the good answers I found as the hard questions I did shed.

Santa Claus Is The Real Deal

.
When I was very young Santa came to see me every Christmas,
Leaving presents for me to play with and goodies so delicious.
This became my very favorite time of the year as Santa I did adore.
I loved that old fat man with a full white beard, rosy cheeks and more.

.
When I was 7, I was sitting on Santa’s knee at the department store,
When his whole white beard suddenly fell off his face on the floor.
I wondered how can this be, has someone been deceiving me?
My Mom said that was only his helper, and I said okay now I see.

Santa will your beard pull off if I tug on it?

.

When I was 8, I began to think more about that fat man in the red suit,
How could he make enough toys for all the world’s kids some loot?
Even if he had ten thousand elves to help him with that huge chore,
How could they possibly get it done even working 16 hours or more?

.
These hard questions in my mind bothered me some along the way,
But, Christmas came and the presents were there on Christmas Day.
I was just as happy as I could be playing with my new toys and stuff.
So I quit worrying about that jovial fat man in the red suit with fluff.

.

When I hit 10, I did some more hard thinking about the Santa deal,
I now had some more doubts about whether or not Santa was real.
How could the old man make it to every house in the world In a night.
Somehow to me this seemed impossible and just couldn’t be right.

Hurry boys we’ve got a long way to go tonight.

.

He entered the homes through the chimney I was always told,
But he never got dirty, and how did he fit, especially when he was old.
I had never ever before seen reindeer that fly through the air,
Yet Santa had eight of them hooked to his sled that flew everywhere.

How did that fat man ever get down that chimney with that bag?

.

Santa’s bag was not too big and only about three feet in diameter.
Yet all the toys for all the world can fit inside its small perimeter.
How could Santa be real if all these questions had no good answer?
This got me to asking adults and my questions to them I did refer.

How did I ever get all those toys in this little bag.

.

I didn’t want to endanger a good thing by asking Mom and Dad,
So I asked my favorite aunt BuelDine when some free time she had.
She said remember that Christmas is celebrating Christ’s birthday,
Santa Claus represents the spirit of Christmas helping with His day.

.

Everyone knows Santa could not do all the things he gets credit for,
He helps us remember that it is Jesus Christ we all still adore.
So we all help with the gifts to our own families for the celebration.
This includes everyone as we celebrate here in our great nation.

.
After that talk, I always believed in Santa Claus without question.
And told all my friends that, yes, Santa Claus has my validation.
Many of them argued with me about what I firmly did believe.
Even when I warned them this might affect the gifts they receive.
