My Mom and Pam’s Mom were good cooks in their day,
But they both now reside in heaven where they stay,
Pam and Kristi are good cooks, but Pam is now older,
So Kristi has most of the load on her young shoulders.

Our Family Cooks
Pam does still cook up a few good things these days,
So we will take a quick look at her stuff she has made.
Last Christmas she made an a beautiful yummy cake.
It was a wonderful Pineapple Upside Cake she did make.

For Christmas Pam still fixes a double recipe batch,
Of her wonderful sugar cookies that have no match.
She hand decorates all 65 cookies working so long,
Then the family gobbles them until they are all gone.

At Thanksgiving, a chocolate cake Pam often does fix,
She uses a Duncan Hines chocolate fudge cake mix.
Then stacks two round cakes together making it tall,
Then uses two cans of double fudge frosting on it all.

Kristi is the really good cook for family these days,
At Beavers Bend she grilled good steaks as we played.
I watched her methods closely as she cooked my steak,
Then we all enjoyed a fine steak meal so very great.
.
For birthdays, Kristi whips up cup cakes for her children,
Sarah loves chocolate so these must be for her wild fun.
Just look at that thick rich chocolate there on the top,
Once the kids eat one of those it will be so hard to stop.

Kristi makes that home made cheese ravioli so yummy,
Completely from scratch to fill up your little tummy.
She whips up a fine meat sauce to add to our pleasure.
When we eat that meal down enjoying her food treasure.

At Easter time, Kristi cooks up a large bone in ham.
Then ladles on red eye gravy for flavor from the pan.
With green beans cooked with bacon for good flavor,
With mashed potatoes and gravy with a hot roll to savor.

On Thanksgiving, Kristi is up early working so steady.
Here Sarah and her are getting the turkey all ready,
To pop in an oven to cook the turkey to golden brown.
So Carl can slice it up after it has had time to cool down.
.
Later as she’s putting the finishing touches on the meal,
She cooks and mashes the potatoes that Carl did peal.
She always fixes two kinds of gravy to please everyone,
And dressing with and without pecans as she does run.
.
Here she is taking the yams with marshmallows out,
Of the oven, so it won’t be long before we eat, no doubt.
Her Thanksgiving food spread is always so very good,
She gets lots of help from her family just like she should.
.
Finally, Kristi works hard to maintain our traditional dinners,
And her cooking has perfected so now she’s a real winner
So good work daughter of mine in all that you do,
And from all of us that love your cooking, we do thank you!
