The Hawg And The Buffalo

The Hawg And The Buffalo

.

We sadly lost Buffalo Bob just two short years ago,
I often think of good times we had with the Buffalo,
Out in Borger when we visited him and Brenda, his wife,
We went out on the town and had the time of our life.

The Hawg And The Buffalo ( Bill And Bob )

While visiting Buffalo in Borger, often we decided to party,
I put on my denim overalls fast so we wouldn’t be tardy.
The ladies dressed up real nice and we were ready to go.
So the Hawg and the Buffalo were ready to start the show.

Fill up my glass again Hawg Jaw.

The Hawg and the Buffalo went to town to get cold beer,
We hit Reds Lounge sucking those suds down with no fear.
We played old country music on the new Wi Fi Jukebox there.
We played $40 worth of Haggard and Jones songs to share.

Keep em coming Buffalo, we’ll drive the acid rockers out.

Hawg Jaw is playing a little Twitty and Jones, pour me another beer.

The old farts at Reds loved the songs we played and cheered.
Since the songs played in sequence, the young people jeered.
We didn’t care because we were on our forth pitcher of beer,
And to tell the truth we felt ten feet tall and really had no fear.

Jannell and Darena were in town on one trip to help us celebrate.

Darena, Pam, Jannell and Brenda were also playing cards as the country music flowed.

Buffalo was getting a little rowdy and was wanting to dance.
Jones’ ” The Lone Ranger” came on so we decided to prance.
We did the Fred Schuffle and Buffalo really got into the beat
Shaking his butt, swinging his arms, and shuffling those feet.

The Hawg and the Buffalo doing the Fred Shuffle to George Jones’s “The Lone Ranger.”

The crowd in Reds couldn’t believe old men could do that dance.
They said we did real fine and kept rhythm with our fine stance,
So they cheered us on until we finished, then clapped real loud.
We took a bow and hollered out “Man this is a great crowd.”

The Buffalo always had a great time acting up a little. Hook em horns.

The acid rockers were gone now, so the crowd was about right,
Most of them were feeling real good and also getting a little tight.
A lady came over and told us she really liked the music we played.
She said if you guys weren’t here, we would not have stayed.

It turned out that lady graduated from Phillips High a few years after I did. She was snockered.

We said “Thank you Mam, will you let us buy you a cold beer?
She said “I’d love to see that dance you did again, if you dare.”
Brenda, Pam, Darena, and Janell were playing cards at our table
While we danced, drank beer, played the jukebox as we were able.

Brenda was getting a little rowdy too. She is always high on life.

We were getting hungry, so I decided to eat the Mexican food
Buffalo got the steak cooked medium well and it was real good.
Between the Mexican food and beer, I had severe indigestion
This kept me up taking Rolaids at my wife Pam’s suggestion.

Chad even came out for a short visit and to eat a steak.

.

The next day was tough and I said “I will never do this again.”
But the next time we came, I had already forgotten the pain.
And we hit Reds again, and partied very hard once more.
Even knowing exactly what the next day had in store.
