Fun Places To Eat

There are some places to eat that are just fun in addition to having excellent food. Here are a couple of my favorite fun eating places.

Fun Places To Eat

Old San Francisco Steak House, Houston, Texas.

When you enter the Old San Francisco Steak House on Westhymier Street in Houston, you notice a swing hanging from the ceiling. They set us down at a table and there is a 10 pound block of cheese on the table with a knife and small plates.

That big old block of cheese was so fresh and tastee. My wife Pam just loves to “cut the cheese”, so she was in hog heaven.

O

So you pick up the knife and cut off a slice of that cheese and it tastes delightful. So you keep eating the cheese while you wait for your drinks to arrive.
Some nice looking lady starts moving around up in the rafters and grabs that swing with a long bar with a hook on it and pulls it over to herself. In the meantime you keep slicing off slivers of that fantastic tasting cheese and munching on it. The lady straps herself into the swing and starts swinging in the swing in long arcs all the way across the steak house and back. When she swings over you, you can see she has great legs.

Checking out the legs of that gal swingIng up in the rafters while we munch on that wonderful cheese at our table.

The waiter comes and takes your order while you continue to munch cheese and watch the good looking chick swinging in the rafters. Then they bring you a large house salad to eat. Before you know it, a wonderful steak is delivered to your table which turns out to be melt in your mouth good and you forget about the girl swinging above and the large cheese on your table and get lost in the steak.

The steak they served was melt in your mouth good to top off a fun evening at the Old San Francisco Steak House.

Before you know it two hours have gone by and you’ve had a delightfully fun evening eating at the Old San Francisco Steak House.

Lambert’s Cafe, Sikeston, Missouri

Lambert’s Cafe has a very large offering of menu items and most of them are excellent. A few of the fun offerings on the menu are as follows. Chicken Fried Round Steak, Ham and Beans, Something Southern, Deep Fried Hog Jowl, Golden Fried Chicken, and Chicken Gizzards. For your entree item, you get three sides of your choice. In addition to the main entree that is served on a pan, there are several pass around items.

Delivery of you entree to the table just begins your fun dining experience. The passarounds are all very good as are the throwed hot rolls.

They provide “pass arounds” at no charge to those ordering from the menu. These “extras” are brought to you by servers carrying pots or other containers of fried okra, fried potatoes, macaroni and tomatoes, black eyed peas, and sorghum and honey. Their “Pass Arounds” are now offered as an entree themselves due to popular demand. One of the best parts of the meal are waiters that throw your hot rolls to you from across the room. When you ask for a hot roll it will come flying your way in a hurry, so you better be ready to catch it. The rolls are hot and are ready for butter. So far I’ve never missed a roll that was thrown to me.

You better get ready to catch that hot roll he’s throwing your way as it will be flying through the air soon.

Every time we get over into Missouri, we try to stop by and eat at Lambert’s Cafe because it’s so much fun and the food is excellent. However be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes for a table as it is a very popular eating spot.
