For many years, chickens stimulated music so good,
A feathered two legged creature we raise for food,
That many people raise in their own back yard for eggs,
Scratching all around the area with their two skinny legs.

I guess when a lot of chickens were scratching a little
It stimulated someone to write Chicken Reel for fiddle.
Such a good song that is for clog dancing and hoedown,
So fast keeping your feet moving just tapping around.

Someone was inspired to write the “Chicken Dance” song,
Watching those cute chickens as they went clucking along,
That causes people to dress like chickens looking dumb
And flap their arms, flopping around like they are really numb.

The Zack Brown Band provided a fine song about chickens,
About a tough little dog that responded when he said “sic em,”
Telling him to get right after a long spurred old rooster,
As he ended up being a homemade chicken pot pie booster.

Billy Ed Wheeler did a rare song about chickens in 1969,
With lots of special facts about those chickens so fine.
“Fried Chicken And A Country Tune” is a good fun dealer,
And I hope you will surely enjoy old Billy Ed Wheeler.

If you saw the Music Man a while on back in time,
You saw a bunch of ladies acting like chickens so fine,
As they gossip about the Librarian there in the town,
I guess the chickens taught them to cheep like a clown.

Old George Jones even got into chickens in his time,
With song called “Have You Seen My Chicken”, so fine.
I guess George could make anything sound pretty good,
As a country song that always perked us up like they should.

Well I guess that’s enough about chicken music influence,
For this blog that you may think does not make any sense,
But let’s face it we depend on those chickens everyday a lot,
So let’s give them some credit as we eat them fried up hot.
