Bigger Head Toons

.

Pam bought me a new 8 1/2″ X 11″ toon sketch pad,
That was much bigger than the old pads I had had.
The resulting toons that I did draw in that new book,
Had much bigger heads when you take a close look.

.

“Danny Lee” is a kid I played with as a young boy,
When we figured out how to use a June Bug as a toy,
By tying a string around the June Bug bods so round,
And letting them fly in circles high above the ground.

.

“Lumpy” is a mean dude holding onto a straight razor,
Looking for someone who will try him as their shaver.
I really don’t think there will be any new shave volunteers,
As Lumpy may have already had a few Coors Beers.

.

“Andy” is a budding artist trying his hand at landscape,
Out in the Great Outdoors where the scenery is great.
There must be a sunset off to the west on that day,
That he has captured on canvas in the month of May.

.

“Hawkeye” is a Indian brave chief painted up for war,
Who is holding a flint spear head he made with his lore,
Which he will mount on a straight limb from a tree,
To make a weapon to throw at white men he does see.

.

“Hiney” is a World War ll German soldier looking rough,
As he holds his German Luger feeling so very tough,
But he doesn’t know a British Sniper has him in his sights,
Ready to shoot him as he squeezes the trigger tight.

.

“Leo” is an an elf for old Santa taking a small break,
From his duties building many toys he does make.
Sucking some sweet milk from fresh coconut so fine,
To reenergize himself so he can get back on the toy line.

.

“Chewy” is a guy I used to know that used Skoal,
Who always had a little juice on his lip that did show.
He had a Spittoon there on the floor to spit his juice,
But there was a big mess as his aim was very loose.

.

“Hans” was a Dutchman who smoked a fine pipe.
He had a dog that wagged his tail with big swipes.
That tail movement made him so nervous each day,
So he is teaching him to still his fast tail along his way.

.

“Sky Buffalo” was an Indian always in never never land,
That dreamed of the big buffalo in the sky so grand.
He looked up at the sky with his big spear in his hand,
With a bare butt as he traveled up and down the Rio Grande.

.

“Marty” is a cowboy singer I knew as a young man,
That had a real fine voice and sang all over the land.
He sang a song about a “Strawberry Roan” horse,
That was a real “sun fishing son of gun”, of course.
