My Granddaughter Sarah bought me two more pads,
To draw new Bighead toons so I wouldn’t be sad,
And I could continue to expel memories from my brain.
By drawing them in toon sketches to keep me sane.

This first Bighead toon came from a memory so fine,
As my Grandson Ben stayed with us for a short time,
Just last week when I drew the Bighead toon of Ben,
Wearing his Flash shirt playing Pokemon on a whim.

.

“Chuckie” came from a 1950s ad of a bellhop in uniform,
Selling Phillip Morris cigarettes with very good form,
In a nice hotel lobby saying “Call for Phillip Morris”,
With a young man’s voice sounding just like a big sis.

.

“Thelma Louise” came from thoughts of my aunt,
Way back in a brain wrinkle where a memory I did plant.
The Bighead toon I did draw was just a little bit ugly,
As I recalled aunt Thelma back when I was a kid so free.

.

“Hamilton” came from a Limey I met over in Stavanger,
While working on a job in the North Sea while there.
He smoked a big pipe and loved to drink that wine,
As long as someone else picked up the bill all the time.

.

“Big Beaver” came from an good old movie I did see.
Called “Little Big Man” living with the Indians so free.
That hunted and trapped the big beaver out there,
On the great plains streams with beavers everywhere.

.

“Bobby Lee” is a guy I once knew in Sulphur Springs,
Who caught big snapping turtles and that kind of thing.
As he often made a special good tasting turtle soup,
Living in a house on the creek with a chicken coop.

.

Wellington is a guy that I knew in a contractors office,
Who thought his crap didn’t stink with a pretty face.
His hat wasn’t that tall and I just didn’t like him at all,
I hoped he would get off my job with his foreign drawl.

.

We went to an air show in Dallas just two years ago,
Down in Fort Worth with my daughters family on a roll.
We all looked like “Sky Watcher” as we watched the show,
Getting a crick in our necks to that made us feel old.

.

“Lenord” is an elf like guy that used to work for Santa,
Who went out on his own living way down in Havana.
Trying to sell pretty feathers to Cubans down there,
As he thought they would look good in the ladies hair.

.

“Harley” rides a 12 speed bicycle hard, looking hot,
Wearing that cute little helmet to protect his soft spot,
That lived in Oklahoma City down the street looking good.
Always carrying a water bottle just like he should.
