An Old Pile Of Photos
.
I found an old pile of photos buried way down deep,
That Pam had packed away for the family to keep.
They sparked my interest as I shuffled through them,
So I picked some out to write a story poem right then.

An Old Pile Of Photos
.
There was a photo of Brenda and Buffalo Bob’s children,
From back over 40 years ago, as they all wore a grin.
There is Brad, Chad, Shari, and Kay from left to right,
As Bob and Brenda overlook their flock so very bright.
.
My daughter Kristi and Danny did a duet so very fine,
In competition on the outdoor stage in morning time,
In the National Silver Dollar City competition one year,
And they got the first place trophy as we did cheer.
.
Some of the Misques ladies were in that small pile,
Looking kind of frisky ready to clog for a few miles,
There’s Linda, Erlene, and Jo standing right there,
Fixing to change clothes in the RV for the Tristate fair.
.
Matt and I worked on the Alaskan North Slope one year,
We stopped by Pipeline Pump Station 1 up North there,
Watching for the blue flashing light for Polar Bear,
As we were told they eat people for lunch, with no fear.
.
I found a photo of Kristi and Tamara on the trampoline,
Jumping much higher than I recall having ever seen,
I guess they were having a contest way back then,
At that height, I would have been yelling loud at them.
.
There was an old picture of Tamara, Kristi, and Pam,
All holding dried cow turds standing in the sand.
Waiting their turn for the cow chip throwing contest.
As it turned out, Tamara won with a long toss, the very best.
.
There was a picture of West Fest up on Copper Mountain,
Organized by Michael Martin Murphey once again.
We are on that ski slope sitting there in the grass.
Loving the talent on that stage as long as it did last.
.
There was a photo from Carl and Kristi’s wedding day,
Of Pam and I and Kristi and Carl fast two stepping at play,
During the wedding after party to “Living On Love,”
Check out Kristi’s smile sent from heaven above.
.
One shot was Tamara getting a diploma from high school,
She seemed so happy already planning college so cool.
Making a giant stride in her life she will never forget,
With a super natural high as for future life she gets set.
.
Mom and Dad’s grandkids were all on one old photo,
At the mall one Christmas at Washington Park on the go.
There is Tamara, Nicholas, Denise, Doug, and Chris,
Then Deborah, Luke, Matt, Kristi, and Buffy with bliss.
