A Patio Sale Story
.
We’ve been busy for two weeks going through stuff,
Getting ready for a Patio Sale which was kind of rough.
I’ll tell you about our experience on our sale adventure,
As we wanted to get rid of things we hoarded for sure.

A Patio Sale Story
.
We looked at the weather forecast for our planned dates,
Showing sunny and clear all week, which was great.
So we decided to make arrangements and then proceed.
Feeling our sale set that weekend would surely succeed.

.
On Monday of last week, we put an ad in the paper,
For a sale Friday and Saturday from 8 til noon, no later.
Which cost $20 for about ten words at the senior rate.
They were out of free signs, so 4 signs cost $4 that date.

.
We went to the rental store to get 3 eight foot tables.
Delivered on Thursday to load up here at our stable.
The fee was $26 so we started our sale $50 in debt.
Wondering if we would break even as out there we sat.
Kristi and Sarah on the Patio with flowers.
.
On Thursday afternoon we put the lighter stuff out,
Kristi, Ben, and Sarah came over for the heavy work, no doubt.
I checked the weather and rain was predicted both days,
So we rushed and covered things with plastic all the way.
Kristi, Ben, and Sarah relaxing before the heavy work.
.
On Friday morning just before 8, it began to sprinkle,
And we sat out there in the rain with our brows wrinkled.
Hoping it would not get worse closing us on down.
But it was at least cool as we tried hard not to frown.

.
The people came in droves out there in drizzling rain,
And bought lots of our stuff surely easing our pain.
Kristi ran the cash box as I sat in the rain in my chair.
The kids sold some of their toys and clothes too out there.
Ben and Sarah enjoying the flowers out on the patio.
.
About 11 AM, the rain stopped and out came the sun,
We stayed open until 2 PM as the people did come.
The weather man was predicting rain the next day,
So we covered stuff up with plastic again all the way.

.
Carl came over Friday night to join the family here,
And help us finish our sale on the Patio right out there,
It rained lightly at night with no wind to blow off the cover.
At 8 AM, no rain could be seen, but low clouds did hover.
Carl looking good before heading this way.
.
The sale went very good until hard rain hit about 10,
So we covered stuff again and shut down the sale then.
Later that day, we took what was left to the Goodwill.
And cleaned up the Patio as it was over, what a thrill.
Kristi put a couple of squash plants in there this year.
.
We thank the Taylor’s for helping us out on our sale days,
As we did quite well even with problems along the way.
The kids made a little money selling their own goods.
And Kristi and Sarah’s homemade pizza was very fine food.
Ummmmmm Good!

PS: We had six boxes of hardback and paperback books and didn’t sell a single book.
Old DVDs, fishing stuff, and tools were the best sellers.
