JerrylDine ( Early Years)
.
Brothers and sisters always seem to fight a lot. The reality is that they really love each other and would protect them at all cost. But it’s fun to talk about the way life really was. Here my poem about my sister.
.
JerrylDine (Early Years)
.
JerrylDine was my sister that grew up very near,
We were very close through out our younger years.
We traveled across the country with our dear mother
And grew from infants to toddlers like no others.
.
At Philview camp we found a more permanent home.
We settled down as a family and lived no more to roam.
JerrylDine and I were 5 and 3 and we had a dog as a pet .
Freckles was his name and he was as good as they get,
.
JerrylDine and I moved to Phillips to start grade school.
Saturdays we walked to the movies shown on spools.
On 3rd Street, JerrylDine and I planted our peach trees,
She got angry at me and broke mine down just to tease.
.
I was really broken hearted and I cried like a fool.
That afternoon she stuck her arm in a wire spool.
She was stuck there for a couple of very long hours
Until Dad greased her arm and pulled it out with power.
.
I considered this an act of revenge for breaking my tree.
She just laughed out loud and said “that didn’t hurt me”
We moved at age 13 and 10 to Stark street across town.
JerrylDine was a teenager now and war did go down.
.
JerrylDine sharpened her nails to get ready for me.
We fought quite a lot about trivial things, almost daily.
I had a lot of battle wounds in the form of nail scars.
And she kept me awake with Elvis 45’s burning my ears.
.
When JerrylDine went with boys on a movie date,
We slept outside and watched her kissing real late.
If she caught us, she ratted us out to my Dad,
And I would have to come in to bed so very sad.
.
Craig and I called JerrylDine by the name Cuke Arino,
Because it made her mad and we liked it so.
She had a few good names for us I cannot repeat,
We were just young people not being too sweet.
.
When we were 18 and 15, we called a real truce,
Because we both had secrets we didn’t want loose.
We became real allies and developed real trust
Which made our lives fun and no longer a fuss.
.
No too long after that, JerrylDine married Pete,
Their wedding was nice and turned out real sweet.
They had a family and loved them very much.
And raised their family right with their special touch..

JerrylDine during the 3rd Street years. She was a Peach tree wrecker.
JerrylDine during the Stark Street years, you can’t see them, but her nails are Razor sharp.
JerrylDine when we became good buddies and had each other’s backs.
