Toons

Toons

I have always enjoyed drawing so sometimes when I get tired of the usual everyday things, I doodle a little. I use a black ball point pin so I can’t erase and start over so what I get on the first pass is the final product.

Toons

For a year or so after I retired, I spent some of my time drawing characters with big heads and small bodies. I probably drew a couple of hundred of them. Most of my collection of toons I left with my daughter Tamara in Frisco, but I had a few still laying around here and thought I might publish a few of them in the blog. Here are a few characters that I drew that came from somewhere deep down in the back of my brain.

This is Kung Fu Charlie and Mac The Knife both looking for trouble. Perhaps these guys represent my inner demons trying to get out?

This is Camo Flage, Billy Bob, and Blade Slinger. These guys may come from my duck hunting days, my beer drinking days, and my weed cutting days with a sling blade.

imageHere’s Captain Jack, Slick Wille, and Scrawny Donny Dukels.  Scrawny Donny  represents one of the guys I went to Texas Tech with. He really didn’t look that duflous.

After a while, I ran out of ideas for guys with big heads, so I got a little wilder and added some animal elements to my toons. Here are a few of those.

The Flame Thrower represents an evil  guy with fire coming out of most orifices. The Hog Nosed Buffalo Zapper could be me looking to get something on Buffalo Bob to put the serious zap on him.

imageTim Turtle may be a reflection of all those Ninja Turtles running around out there.

My next couple of blogs will include more toons without too many words. The weird little guys conjured up by my wrinkled old brain may not be of any interest. If not, please don’t bother to look at them.

Thanks for reading Toons,
