Still Iced In

Still Iced In

.

This is the third day we have been iced in at home,
Pam does not drive well on ice so we do not roam,
However, this has been the perfect time for this event,
In fact the icey storm seems almost heaven sent.

Still Iced In

On Wednesday night, we went to the grocery store,
And loaded up on our food stock and snacks galore.
Prepared to be home bound for a while like we should.
I love to cook so to me these type events can be good.

On Thursday night, we went out to eat to ease our pain.
Knowing we could not get out Friday in the icy rain.
Our driveway is so very steep to our carport nest,
Just a touch of ice and the car slides down very fast.

Ice on the trees.

On Friday morning the nasty icy rain began to fall.
So we slept in until about 10 AM not worrying at all.
We got up and I fixed Hawg Jaw Stew so very good,
As I did describe in detail earlier just like I should.

On Saturday morning, we slept in again feeling great,
Pam and I worked together to fix breakfast so late.
About noon Pam fried up spicy hot patty sausage,
And oven cooked baby grand biscuits with such courage.

.

I whipped up omelettes with special cooking skills,
With eggs, cheese, onions, and jalapeƱos by Bill.
The omelettes were golden brown looking so fine.
It was the best breakfast we’ve had in a long time.

At 3:40 PM, the NFL football playoffs started on TV.
So we got set in our easy chairs for the kickoff, you see.
The Atlanta Falcons beat the Seattle Seahawks then,
While we enjoyed the game all the way to the end.

At 7:40 PM after a good round of good snacks to eat,
We watched New England play Houston so sweet.
We rooted hard for the Texans but the Patriots did win.
Too bad because I didn’t want to see the Patriots again.

It’s now Sunday morning and we slept in once more,
We’ve got two good NFL games to watch like before,
But first we’re cooking again and that Is always so keen.
We’re having iron skillet ham and Bills baked beans.

.

.

We put our lunch on to cook and now I am back again,
I guess now this is real time from now until the end.
In 18’more minutes, our food will be ready to eat.
I know our ham and baked beans will be oh so sweet.

.

Today we will watch the Dallas Cowboys beat Green Bay,
And after that the Chiefs will beat the Steelers some way.
So I’m going to end here, hoping my predictions are true.
Making this really very good for me and little ole you.
