Sniper Bill Tale
.
We are going to Broken Bow Lake this next week end,
So I’m writing a tall tale story for all our grandkids again.
I’m making it a little exciting about a guy named Sniper Bill,,
I hope you can take the excitement too and maybe get a chill..
.
Sniper Bill Tale
.
There once was a young boy named Bill a long time ago,
That got a 22 rifle from his granddad that he did love so.
He hunted in the canyons every chance that he could,
And he became an expert shot, just like that he should.
.
.
.
.
.
..
.
When he was 18, he joined the Army to fight in the war,
To protect the United States Of America overseas so far.
During training, he was the very best shot of them all,
So they asked him to train to be a sniper standing so tall.
.

..
.
Bill trained hard and learned all he could there on the base,
And was the very best sniper in the whole human race.
They sent Bill on a mission to Vietnam with his army troop,
Giving him the best rifle of anyone in his sniper group.

.
The major called sniper Bill in one day to give him orders.
Bill was to go alone to very near the Cambodian border.
And crawl on his belly to high ground near the NVA camp,
And pick off the commanding general like a sniper champ.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
So Bill gathered his gear and loaded on a stealth plane,
In the night and flew out to over the jungle,in the rain.
He bailed out so high at just the right location out there,
Then put on his camouflaged suit that snipers all wear.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
He hiked 10 miles though the harsh jungle so very dense,
And the last five miles, he crawled on his belly so tense.
He found a good spot over looking the camp site so high,
Making sure he got there in the middle of the night.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
He dug a hole underneath him to pee as he laid there,
So he would not have to move from his little sniper lair.
And give away his position to NVA that were everywhere.
He was now in place and ready to start his mission there.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
That first night as he was laying there being so quiet,
He felt something move against his arm on the right.
He glanced over and saw it was a green pit viper snake,
That was extremely poisonous as he tried not to shake.
.
.
.
.
.
..
.
He could feel the snake coil up on his back that was warm.
Just laying back there still but not doing him any real harm.
After four hours of not moving a muscle, the snake moved
And crawled off of him as Bill was relieved and grooved.
.
.
.
.
The sun was just breaking up over the NVA camp now,
And Bill was ready for his mission with sweat on his brow.
He saw his target who was the NVA General in command,
And lined his cross hairs squeezing the trigger in his hand.
.
.i see you commanding general.
.
.
.
..
He saw the General fall right on down to the hard ground,
Knowing he had hit his target with the very first round.
He just laid there still as the NVA ran all over the place,
Trying to find where the shot came from that hit his face.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Bill laid there still all day, watching the show at the camp,
Even though it rained and the ground was so very damp.
When night time came, Bill crawled 5 miles on his belly,
Then hiked 10 miles even though his legs felt like jelly.
.
.
.
.
.
.
..
.
He found the extraction point and flew a ballon in the air,
Until a plane came by and jerked him right out of there.
Bill was so happy he had completed his first mission,
And put the NVA General right on out of commission.
.
.
.
.
.
..
.
The army gave Bill the Silver Star for being so brave,
And lots of fine words about his actions they did rave.
Bill went on many more missions during his time served.
Getting many, many more metals that he did deserve.
