Resemblances

 

I have often heard people say that everyone has someone out there in the world that looks a lot like them. I have come to believe this as many members of my family have people out there that look a lot like them. Here’s the story.

Resemblances

Over the years many people have told me that my wife Pam looks a lot like someone they knew. When I used to watch the Buck Owens show on TV, one day he announced that he had a new lady singer on his show named Susan Raye. She came on to sing and I had to do a double take because I thought my wife Pam was moon lighting as a singer. The resemblance to Pam was astonishing to me. Many people told Pam she looked like Susan Raye in future years.

When I was 10 years old, I used to come home from school and watch a black and white TV show called Howdy Doody who was a puppet operated by Buffalo Bob. Many people told me during that one year that I resembled Howdy Doody. I guess I out grew it quickly as after I turned 11, no one ever told me that again,

 

 

That’s me at 10 years old on the left and Howdy Doody on the right. Maybe a little resemblance.

Since I put a picture of Craig and I holding a stringer of Walleyed Pike on one of my blogs, several people including my grandchildren told me that Craig looked like John Candy in the picture. I got to looking at it again, and decided they are right. Perhaps, it’s the fact that he was holding a lot of weight and was strained a little, but none the less, the resemblance is there.

I have an aunt named Thelma that I have always thought resembled Patrica Neal in the role she played with Paul Newman in the movie “Hud” which was filmed about 40 miles from our previous home in Borger Texas. I loved that movie and especially Patricia Neal’s character which even reminded me of my aunt Thelma.

Finally I have a brother in law named Bob that has an uncanny resemblance to a Buffalo. Since he is caucasion with whitish pink skin, I guess he looks more like the Great White Buffalo than a brown buffalo so I have selected the white buffalo for this comparison. The girls at the office where he worked at Pan Tex all called him “Buffy” because he was so cute.

 

 

That’s Bob on the left and the Great White Buffalo on the right. They both will also answer to Buffy.
