PoPo Barringer
.
My oldest daughter send a good memory over my way,
That touched my heart in a warm way as I read it today.
She reminded me of a picture Pam’s Dad had on the wall,
In his home out there in Borger that was viewed by us all.

Pam’s dad was a very fine man that loved to sing,
He was always at church when those bells did ring.
He knew all those songs they sang right from the start,
Singing loud with a beautiful voice right from his heart.
PoPo, MaMo, and our girls heading to church in Borger, Texas
.
We recorded PoPo Barringer singing some of his songs,
During a station SLOB family show as we went along.
We pull out those old tapes from time to time now,
And listen to his beautiful voice as time will allow.
PoPo Barringer at our home in Houston in 1982 on Christmas morning when we recorded the Station SLOB family show.
.
When we sat down to eat, PoPo always said the grace,
He always thanked the Lord for food we ate at his place.
He read from his bible each and every single day,
Often talking about what he read as he went on his way.
PoPo Barringer is to the far right and he just finished saying grace at his home in Borger as we enjoy Thanksgiving dinner. That’s my Dad, my Mom, and me getting ready to dig in.
.
He had lots of his favorite prose hanging on his wall,
I had forgotten about one item he had hanging so tall,
There by his living room chair that was read by us all,
Until Kristi sent me a picture, then I too did recall.
PoPo Barringer fooling around in his chair in his living room.
.
As I looked at the back ground and read the fine prose,
I got a chill and those goose bumps suddenly arose.
As I had read it many times when visiting his home,
And remembered the theme that we are never alone.
.
I’m certain most of you all have seen it in your past,
As it is something that will stick with you and last.
So to help you remember too as through life we roam,
This is the message to remind us we are never alone.
MaMo and PoPo Barringer out front of their home in Borger, Texas.
.
When an old memory comes home that I do recall,
I guess I will just have to write a little more on my wall,
Just to keep it in my memoirs before I do lose it all,
And it does seem important to record before I do fall.
