Personal Memory Device

 

Sometimes when we read about a new idea it sounds so good,
But when we think about it for a while we change our mood.
This poem reviews an idea called the personal memory device,
That could cause bad repercussions more than once or twice.

Personal Memory Device

 

I read about the Personal Memory Device and their future worth,
That said we could all be fitted with a memory chip slot at birth.
Our memories could be saved for all generations of loved ones.
Wow, I’ve spent two years recording some of mine on the run.

Well, my personal memory device storage chip is full, time to change to a new one again..

 

 

.

I assume we would all have a file of memory chips by month,
That could be plugged into an iPad and viewed more than once.
I think they would have to be edited into memories good or bad,
To keep others from recalling things that once made us sad.

 

 

.

This could be conceived as a new cure for Alzheimer’s disease,
As we could reload our old memories that fade out with ease.
We could just keep the good memories and throw out the bad.
Which might make our golden years better making us glad.

 

 

.

Crime would likely be deterred as all our actions are reported.
The police or prosecutors could access our memories we recorded,
And have instant proof available to send us off to the prison
And the government could keep track of us beyond all reason.

 

 

.

This is starting to sound like a Big Brother society which I hate,
I think they could control all our actions and our ultimate fate,
With access to all our memories, we couldn’t fool around much,
Or we would surely be punished for all the fun in life and such.

 

I think we have enough surveillance devices on us all ready. The personal Memory Device would allow others access to our minds.

I think our American freedom would soon certainly be lost,
With too much information available, we would pay a high cost.
Perhaps, the Personal Memory Device is not such a good device,
Even though at first it sounded like it might be so very nice.

 

 

.

If hackers could break into the personal memory devices files,
They could change our memories and we would lose our style,
Perhaps totally changing our personal history and our family,
Which could totally disrupt our very great American society.

 

 

.

I have decided the Personal Memory Device should not be pursued,
Until all of the possible ramifications have been carefully reviewed,
Recording memories in a blog, may be the best solution of all.
So I guess I’ll continue the blog until I’ve completed my “Total Recall.”

 

 

.

 

Recalling all of those memories is not as easy at it may seem.
