Pam And I

Pam And I

.

Pam and I moved to Bartlesville in 1984 feeling bad,
I had asked for a transfer and was feeling so sad.
We didn’t know what to expect from our move just yet,
But we stayed here many years we will never forget.

Our real estate agent was deep into square dancing,
It wasn’t too long before she had us out there prancing.
We had danced before and picked it back up quick.
We made new friends and we soon got pretty thick.

By the time our first Christmas came, we were settled in,
I was loving my job and life was treating us good then.
Our love for each other had kept us so very close,
And we felt good about our family as we tied our bows.

In the years to come, we tried just about everything,
As we enjoyed the happiness our lives did then bring.
We made many friends as along our road we did go,
Through the sunny weather, rain, sleet, and the snow.

We went to the lake with our friends to have fun,
Boating, skiing, fishing, and ski doing in the hot sun,
Sometimes we were out in the sun too long on our stay,
And got cooked like a lobster as we enjoyed our play.

Sometimes we went out on the town all alone to dinner,
Having lobster and Chardonnay wine, such sinners,
Then dancing all night long there in Nashville so fair.
Just floating across the dance floor as a great pair.

We spend time at South Fork, Colorado, a little later.
I wore my Ernest Tubb hat from the record shop creator,
As we rafted and fly fished in God’s country up there.
Having a great time with family as our love we shared.

Sometimes we just sat in the kitchen and made plans,
For Cruises with Craig and Rhonda at sea and on land.
Such a great time we had together on that adventure,
That summer in June as out there together we did venture.

We even taught clog lessons in Bartlesville a while,
Sharing our activity with others showing our style.
We worked fairly hard teaching lessons to the masses,
While making new friends as we worked off our asses.

.

We spent a great deal of time at Grand Lake for play,
With our dancing friends who we loved all the way,
A time or two we took a long ride in the early evening,
On the Cherokee Queen with the paddle really beating.

Occasionally we took a summer trip up to Breckenridge,
To visit Sandy and Dale’s Condo way up on the big ridge,
To look at the beautiful scenery up in the mountains,
And fish for trout in those rivers running like fountains.

.

Some week ends we just stayed there at our place,
As we sometimes needed to rest and slow our fast pace,
With beer and a lot of country music sitting down,
We were soon ready again for a night dancing in town.

Message:

Enjoy your lives while you are young and still can,
As before long, you’ll be an old woman or man.
So don’t just sit around and wait until it is too late,
Do it now while you can run and dance, don’t wait.
