Morning Toons

In the past month or so during my usual morning routine,
I  whipped out a few more bighead toons soon to be seen.
Someday my grandkids own grandkids will see them too,
Because I put them here in this blog before I was through.

Morning Toons

I think some of my own personality shows in my little guys.
Based on life experiences, I have seen with my own eyes.
So as you look at the bighead toons, you may also see,
Many of them were likely influenced by my friend Gary.

So here are a few characters that may resemble this man,
With lots of his faces we hung around with way back then.
I think most of my bighead toons are pretty good looking,
Some of them even spend their time with a pot cooking.

The little bigheaded dudes that pop out of my mind,
Represent many places I’ve been and people of all kinds.
I never think about what I will draw before I sit on down,
So the bighead toons may look strange or make you frown.

I spent time in the armed forces of the good old USA ,
So some toons may reflect things I saw during my stay.
We worked hard serving our country here and in Vietnam,
Some toons represent some characters from back then.

My engineering job allowed me to travel the world over,
From the Great Wall of China to the White Cliffs of Dover.
There were all styles of hats people wore in those places,
The people were of different cultures and different races.

When I was young, I really loved to fish, hunt, and hike,
So I dressed the part for any activity that I really did like.
The outfits and tools remain fixed here right in my mind,
For me to pull right out for a toon drawing of any kind.

I square danced, clogged, and two stepped real fancy
With the outfits, shoes, big hats, and boots for dancing.
In states of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Tennessee too.
With memories fixed hard in my mind until i am through.

While dancing was going on, along the way we did play,
With the friends we made that a long time with us did stay.
There was butt moons, beer drinking, and celebrating too,
Making so many memories that there in my mind grew.

There were so many good movies that I’ve watched too.
With all kinds of good characters that to me were new.
I filed them away in my mind for review some other time,
So I can recall them as needed from my wrinkled old mind.

So with all of the stuff crammed in my head on my mind,
The bighead toons seem to pop out with out even trying.
So I guess I’ll keep putting them there on that pad of mine,
And publish them in due time, until my memory goes blind.
