Meet More Bigheads

Meet More Bigheads

.

The Bigheads just keep oozing out of my old brain,
Without any struggle at all as I don’t even strain.
So here’s a new batch that popped out of me this time,
Drawing with ink trying not to cross any of the lines.

Meet More Bigheads

.

“Dick” is a character I remembered from comic strips,
He had a TV wrist watch long before they did exist.
He was a crime stopper deluxe as he ran his long race,
Arresting guys like “Flattop Jones” and “Pruneface”.

.

“Kookie” was a guy I remembered from a TV show,
Called “77 Sunset Strip” in Los Angeles years ago.
Every time he made an appearance he combed his hair,
They even wrote a song about it and put it on the air.

.

“Sarge” is a guy I saw often while in the U. S. army,
Who was always looking for a volunteer just like me.
But I got some advice from my Brother in Law, Pete,
Never to volunteer for anything to protect your own meat.

.

“Alphalpha” was a kid I knew from Sulphur Springs,
Who wore coveralls with no shirt, shoes, or anything.
That kid could spit a watermelon seed a full 20 feet,
While the ones I spit fell right at my own two feet.

.

“Gumbo” is a kid I knew from my Third Street days,
Who rarely ever wore a shirt when he was out to play.
At times, he romped in the sun down at the Big Hole park,
Often taking a sunflower home to his Mom for spark.

.

“Moe” was sparked by an old three stooges memory,
I think Moe was the smartest stooge of the three,
He is having fun on Independence Day with real fire,
While throwing the hot sparkler at Joe is his real desire.

.

“Reggie” is a guy that used to play ball for the Yankees,
Who was driving down the road one day feeling so free,
When he had a flat tire after running over a big nail.
He has pulled out a tire tool to change the tire without fail.

.

“Smiley” is a clown that came to my birthday party,
Who gave everyone there a big candy sucker for free.
I was very young and I think my Mom may have paid him,
Why else would he have shown up way back then?

.

“Phillip” is a guy in a Phillips Blackhawk band uniform,
As I remember them back from the high school I’m from.
I wore that uniform for three long years back then.
When I played baritone in Phillips Blackhawk Band.

.

“Ranger Rick” was inspired by an old movie I did see,
“The Green Beret” as worn by John Wayne in the movie,
Is perhaps the vision that vaguely came on back to me,
As I started drawing my toon with my mind so free.
