Little Mountain Cabin

Little Mountain Cabin

There was a little mountain cabin where I used to go,
Up there in the mountains that were capped with snow.
Feeling so close to God when I was there in the summer,
Spending my free time enjoying all His natural wonders.

Little Mountain Cabin

I feel the morning warmth of God’s sun,
As i arise to start out my day on the run.
The beauty of the sunrise on the horizon,
Starts my day making me feel just awesome.

Out of of my window lying here in my bed,
I see snow capped mountains purple and red,
From the morning sunshine off in the east,
Breaking into the sky like a red fiery beast

God sends down His own pure sweet love.
As He looks down at me from heaven above,
And sends me a beautiful bluebird right along,
To sit on my window sill and sing me his song.

I can smell the fresh scent of pine in the cool air,
From the tall evergreen trees out there somewhere.
Inviting me to come on out into the green forest,
And walk among God’s creations to the northwest.

I see the light sparkling off the cold mountain stream,
As the trout jump out of the ripple like in a good dream.
From this spot here on this Rocky mountain so very high,
Feeling near to my God up here near the clear blue sky.

As I climb up higher on that mountain, I see a big herd,
Of Elk grazing feeling like I was one of God’s shepherds,
Watching over His flock in peaceful solitude right there,
Feeling so humbled by the majestic beauty everywhere.

After a day out there with all of those natural wonders,
I head back down to my little mountain cabin’s splendor.
There in the sky is an orange, red, and yellow sunset.
Like a painting by God there in the sky off to the west.

As I lay down my head there in my little cabin bed,
I thank God for the wonders still lingering in my head.
I could see all the stars out the window there at night,
In the clear, clean, cool air, that shone so very bright.

I treasured those trips to that cabin in those mountains,
With those waterfalls falling like big sparkling fountains,
But I can’t get up there in that wonderful thin air anymore,
So I just write down the memories as I sit here so bored.

I went to that mountain cabin with all my close family
Where we all felt so great enjoying God’s big country.
I am so glad that I didn’t miss those fun times there,
With Pam and the girls loving the fresh mountain air.
