When someone I remember from my many past years,
Pops into my big brain there between my two ears,
I pick up my pen and sketch it right down on my pad.
Then I color it up to what I remember looking so rad.

A flash from the old years brought my brother Craig,
We set out duck decoys near Lake Meredith’s edge.
In camouflage outfits in the morning feeling great.
We hit the lake shores early long before day break.

My brother Craig was at our home a few weeks ago,
And I had him fresh in my old man memory, you know,
So I sketched him as he looked to me here on that trip,
With a flying bullet cap and a bass pro shirt to his hips.

I recall the Dallas Cowboys whipping the Eagles a lot,
So an Eagle quarterback popped out looking so hot.
The Eagles always threw the football to make big yards,
But winning against Dallas just wasn’t in the cards.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

.

When I was a kid, my imagination often ran berserk,
And I remember a thug that looked like a real jerk,
Carrying a very big club needing a shave on his face.
Looking mean ready to knock me in the head someplace.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

.

I saw a show that they called “The Smurfs” on TV.
With little ugly blue guys running all around the trees.
That memory initiated this bighead toon called “Blue Boy”,
But this smurf is all grown up not playing with toys.

The “Standish” toon is from my history recall power,
I believe “Miles” came with the pilgrims on the Mayflower.
I think he must have been involved on Thanksgiving day.
With the local Indians having roast turkey as they did pray.

“Red Skin” attended that first Thanksgiving celebration,
With those pilgrims in that newly formed colony nation.
He wasn’t sure whether he could trust those guys,
So he brought along his hand made spear of big size.

At Christmas time when Santa goes to work with toys,
We see lots of elves out there working for girls and boys.
This elf popped on out of my memory called “Candie”.
Hanging a red and white candy cane looking so dandy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

.

I saw an old war movie called the Red Baron so fine.
A WWI pilot called “Ace” shot the Red Baron’s behind,
The toon results from a faint memory of that pilot,
Likely a movie pilot rendition from the old movie plot.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

.

Willie was a guy I saw over in Vietnam looking mean,
Loading mortars to haul to the field posts I had seen.
The going got pretty rough out there in the jungle,
When they dropped those mortars in a tube in a rumble.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

.

I once saw a guy names “Rowdy” on an old TV show,
He wrangled cattle up the trail to market so slow.
That young wrangler from that show became a big star,
And on the big screen, Clint was seen near and far.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

.

“Bone Head” is a guy I’ve seen in the mirror a few times,
When I pulled some stupid stunts back down the line.
As I looked in the mirror, a dummy image looked at me,
And this toon shows just how I looked then to a tee.
