Frodo From Frisco

There was an old dog that was born and raised in Frisco, town.
He lived with a boy, Zack, in a nice home where love was found,
Frodo loved his boy and the boy loved him, with mutual respect.
There was always more love there that anyone could detect.

Frodo is a little brown dog I know that lives in the town of Frisco.
He belongs to my grandson, Zack, who claims him as his own.
The two are always hanging around together when they are home.
A young boy and his dog that you would often think of as one.

Frodo is 13 years old and has a condition called hanging tongue,
So his tongue is always out on the side of his face on the run.
He looks like he has run miles with that pink little tongue out.
But the truth is that it hangs out when he sleeps, there’s no doubt.

Zack often sleeps with old Frodo right by his side in his bed.
One of them snores a little with a soft purr that wasn’t that bad.
Frodo looked kind of like a little brown teddy bear under his arm,
Keeping Zack safe in his bed with all of his sweet doggie charm.

MaMo tried to let Frodo out to pee when we were there one time,
Zack told her that was his job so ask him first as if it were a crime.
He takes his doggie ownership duties seriously during his day,
So MaMo would have to adapt or she just simply could not stay.

As I was going out the door today, a puddle on the floor I did see,
It was yellow color and looked a lot like big pool of Frodo pee,
I asked Pam to bring a rag to clean the pee up off of the floor,
But Zack said that’s my job, so I said okay and walked out the door.

Zack told me when Frodo wakes up in the morning ready to pee,
He stands at the end of the bed and moans in a humanlike key,
Saying “Iwannapee” in a growling kind of voice that they understand,
Kind of like this little dog is another family member so grand.

This evening Tamara said she smelled dog pee on the floor somewhere,
And both Luke and Zack started looking around the floor there.
They said “oh no Mom, Frodo had the runnies on the floor over here.”
Tamara had the big one until they said they were kidding her.

Luke loves Frodo too as can be easily seen by his daily care,
As he too watches over Frodo to keep him safe at home there.
Frodo just came up on the couch and is laying next to me now,
I have been scratching his neck and he is smiling like a cow.

I can tell this little golden brown dog has been loved a lot here,
But he is old, wrinkled and a little feeble just like my old rear.
I can sympathize with this old dog loved by so many in Frisco,
And I can say for sure there will never be another dog like Frodo.
