Poems with Conway Twitty songs on all lines is tough, but “I’ll Try“.
Some are so very sad like “Don’t Cry Joni” making us all cry.
Others were as fast as a “Boogie Grass Band” sounding so fine.
He had a lot of songs about love like “Lovin’ On Borrowed Time“.

Conway Twitty started out singing rock as a “Lonely Blue Boy,”
He said “It’s Only Make Believe” that sounded a lot like Elvis so coy,
All the girls thought his rock sound was just so very “Heavenly
With songs like “Mona Lisa“, but his heart was always so country.

Conway reverted to country music with “Hello Darlin” as an entry
He had found his calling as a singer even making “The Rose” country.
Red Neckin’ Love Makin’ Night” was raw country at its best,
He saw Linda in those “Tight Fittin’ Jeans” with a feeling of zest.

After that he was often heard to say I’ve got “Linda On My Mind
Thinking to himself “I’d Love To Lay You Down” feeling so fine.
He told her “I See The Want Too In Your Eyes” like a real man,
Then he caressed her soft silky black hair with his “Slow Hand“.

He told Linda “I’ve Already Loved You In My Mind” at that time.
She looked at him and said, what am I just “The Next In Line“?
And Conway assured her that she could “Rest Your Love On Me.”
I guess “You’ve Never Been This Far Before” that’s easy to see.

Conway told Linda “I Love You More Today” than I did yesterday,
Because “That’s My Job” my little darling, so let’s love today.
Linda told him that he had hurt her “Feelins” in a real bad way,
Then Conway said I’m so sorry, please “Don’t Take iIt Away.”

Conway said ” This Time I’ve Hurt Her More Than She Loves Me.”
And I guess “I Don’t Know A Thing About Love” and I’m lonely.
Conway thought I don’t know “How Much More Can She Stand“,
And “I Can’t See Me Without You” or I’ll be a lonely lonely man.

He called her on the phone just so very “Crazy In Love” and sad,
But she said, I’m gone “As Soon As I Hang Up The Phone” you cad,
Conway replied well my “Baby’s Gone” feeling so very blue,
I guess I’ll just go way back to “Fifteen Years Ago” without you.

There’s A Honky Tonk Angel Who’ll Take Me Back In” I’m sure,
She Needs Someone To Hold Her When She Cries” for a cure.
And it just tears me up “To See My Angel Cry” breaking my heart.
So he said “I’m Not Through Loving You Yet“, we’ve been apart.

His Angel looked at him and said I “Don’t Call Him A Cowboy
But to “Touch The Hand” of the man dancing gives me much joy.
She said “I Still Believe In Waltzes” dancing across the floor,
Saying “Play, Guitar, Play” as we would like to dance some more.

Conway thought “I Can’t Believe She Gives It All To Me” so dear,
And I’m “Lovin’ What Your Lovin’ Did To Me” all of those years.
With this “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man” couple so grand,
So “Lead Me On” until “All The Fire Is Gone” and I’m an old man.
