Another Bedtime Story
.
I still tell my grandchildren stories that they all love so much.
Perhaps I have been blessed with sort of a story telling touch.
My Aunt BuelDine could keep all us kids mesmerized with a tale,
Sorry, this bedtime story is missing her awesome vocal detail.

Another Bedtime Story
.
There were once two boys who had a very nice family too,
In a residential area with lots of fun things they could do.
The younger boy was 7 years old and his name was Zack.
The older boy was Luke at 9 years and energy they did pack.
.
.
.
They had lots of toys and electronic video games to play,
But, they would rather be outside with Mother Nature, I say.
The boys liked to wrestle and chase each other all around.
Sometime they seemed like wild young boys acting like clowns.
.
.
.
The young boys really loved the great outdoors the most,
They hunted for lizards, snakes and frogs so engrossed,
Every time they were outside with old Dad by their side.
They studied the creatures, then let them loose to hide.
.
.
.
One time with their Dad they found a large snapping turtle.
They ran him to shallow water seeing he was light purple.
Dad picked him up avoiding those razor sharp hard lips,
With the turtle snapping trying to bite off a little finger tip.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Dad taught Luke and Zack how dangerous a turtle can be
Teaching them to avoid the snappers mouth and his pee.
Then they put that old snapper right back in that lake.
With a lesson learned so they made no future mistakes.
.
.
.
Zack was a lizard catcher and he hunted them even at night,
With a flashlight checking the house sides with no fright.
Luke preferred catching those large bull frogs to survey,
Inspecting them all over well before he let them get away
.
.
.
.
..
The boys very favorite thing to do was to fish at the lake,
That was two blocks from their front door, how very great.
Both boys had their own fishing rods and spinning reel,
So when that fish came, his bite was so very easy to feel.
.
.
.
They loved fishing so much that they went to the lake a lot,
Often using worms and a cork at their favorite fishing spot.
They both caught largemouth bass so huge right there.
And sent their PoPo pictures making him proud, I swear.
.
.
.
.
..
PoPo got the itch to fish and went to see Luke and Zack,
They hit the lake and PoPo sat in a chair with a tall back,
And they fished there together like a team using worms.
Luke and Zack put PoPo to shame making him squirm.
.
.
.
.
.
.
They both caught bass bigger than the old fisherman,
Even though he used all the special techniques in the land.
PoPo said “you boys have really made old PoPo so proud,
Proving you’re skilled fishermen even if you’re a little loud.”
.
.
.
By now you’ve figured this is a story of life so very true,
I think these real life stories are the best as I bid you adieu.
Read this to your young children that are ready for bed,
And they will surely love it and lay down their sweet head.
