A Strange Language
.
Many words we use today are made up of other words,
With completely different meanings therein stirred,
So our own English language can be so very weird,
Even for a smart old man with a big thick gray beard.

A Strange Language
.
Has anyone out there ever really noticed the fact that,
The word “father” is made up of two words so separate.
The first word is “fat” that just might be right for me,
But the second word is “her” that suggests I’m a she.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
So perhaps then, a “Father” is really a real porky lady,
And this day of June 19th is really “Porky Ladies Day.”
Pam told me “if this is really the way that I do now see it,
She’ll tell the kids to get her a gift and not get me shit.”
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
I said “now let’s think just a little bit more about that,
The word “mother” is also made up of two words separate.
The first is “moth” that flutters and flitters all along,
Which fits fine, “er” is left that means you are wrong”
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
So perhaps then, “Mother” means a flittering mistake,
And that special day in May might just be a big fake.
So I guess we must not separate those two little words,
And always keep them as one not making them blurred.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
“Porky Ladies Day” and “Flittering Mistake Day”,
Are just so wrong for “Fathers Day”and Mothers Day.
As we all love our fathers and mothers so very much
With their gentle and loving manner and soft touch.

.
So give them a big hug the next time that you see them,
And that will be enough to make them very happy again.
There’s no need for gifts as your love is quite enough,
To keep them so very happy as they just don’t need stuff.

Word make up can be very confusing when trying to learn,
All the strange things in the English language of concern.
There are many words that sound the just the very same.
With very different meanings like a strange word game.

.
“Pretty” as a adjective means very pleasing to the eye,
The word can mean unexpectedly bad, ironically you see,
The word as a adverb means to a certain extent or degree,
It’s difficult to master the way we all use words so poorly.
.
.
.
.
.
.
..
No wonder this English language of ours is hard to retain,
With there, their, and they’re sounding exactly the same,
There’s to, too, and two that can be confusing to some,
And ten and tin, four, and fore, and finally one and won.

We park cars on the driveway and drive on the parkway,
Lackadaisical is defined as acting in a very dreamy way,
But it sounds like it should mean a shortage of flowers.
A “fat chance” and a “slim chance” are the same this hour.

A little tidbit.

Mom said spell me backwards and see what you get,
That’s right, She’s still Mom coming or going, you bet.
Mom turned up side down then spells a special woW
So Mom is special,no matter how you look at her now.
.
.
.
Dad said spell me backwards and see what you get,
It’s still Dad loving us all because he’s the best father yet
Moms and Dads are always there for us as we are growing,
There’s no better people that we’ll ever be a knowing.
