Wondering Again

 

I wonder more that ever as I grow older with more time to think,
Some of the things I wonder about have answers that stink.
This poem captures a few of those strange wonderings of mine,
And my thoughts on the wonderings coming out of my mind.

.Wondering Again

 

I have often wondered how geese always find their way home,
Do they have a tiny GPS deep inside their feathered dome?
That thing called instinct seems to be a naturalists pipe dream.
As humans can’t find their way home without a map, it seems.

 

 

.
I often wonder how Obama ever got elected to a second term.
After failing so terribly on all of the issues, we didn’t even learn.
I guess all the freeloaders getting the welfare from him free,
Wanted more freebies from all of the hard working people like me.

 

 

 

.
I wonder if all the wireless transmissions we have had so long,
Including all the featured movies, TV shows, and musical songs,
Flying around out there in the air being picked up by the Wi Fi,
Will eventually saturate the whole system and cause it to die?

I wondered about how awful Alzheimer’s disease would be.
To lose a lifetime of memories would be terrible torture to me.
I heard recently that they think they may be close to a real cure.
To help us keep those memories inside that we love for sure.

I wondered why the Social Security that we paid into all our lives,
Has failed and been butchered up by politicians long knives.
Not only do they tax these meager funds that old people get,
But they take medical fees out of the fund that was to be just that.

.

 

.
I’ve wondered why with all the new technology there is out there
That a functional cure for cancer has not been found anywhere.
Perhaps our efforts have been directed towards making money,
Instead of finding cures in this wonderful land of milk and honey.

 

 

.
I wonder with all the new advances in communications today,
Why you get recordings when you call a company that say
Stupid things that don’t relate to the answers that you need.
I guess they laid off all the people able to think, yes indeed.

 

 

.
I wonder why all the commercials on TV have gotten so bad,
It’s like they’re trying to irritate you so you will remember the cad.
The new Colonel Sanders grates on your nerves so much it hurts,
But you remember KFC when you are out and the hunger starts.

I wonder why doctors prescribe medicines that are known to kill,
If the side effects may be cancer or internal bleeding from the pill,
Why put the patient who is already ill at risk from the defects,
Twice I have suffered badly from the prescriptions side effects.

.

.
I wonder why inflation always continues to grow each year,
At a much higher rate than the Social Security checks, I fear.
They expect us to live on that little monthly check they send,
If we hadn’t saved on our own, hunger would be our only friend.
