Favorite Things To Do
I have been thinking about the things I loved to do as a boy when I was 7 to 10 years old and have been comparing those things with some of the things my grandchildren love to do best and I find there’s really not to much difference even though technology has improved tremendously since I was a boy. Here is what I came up with.
Favorite Things To Do
I recall when I was around 7 years old, when I found one of those trees that was fairly easy to climb, I just couldn’t pass it by with out without climbing up as high as I could get in the tree to see what I could see from up there. I have noticed all my grandsons love to climb trees, so I guess it’s just a boy thing no matter what era you come from.
Both Zack on the left and Ben on the right seem to like to strike a pose in the tree for the camera. Both young men are skilled climbers.
One of my favorite things to do when I was a young boy was going fishing with my Dad. I had some of the best times of my life on those adventures out in nature. All my grandsons like to go fishing with their Dad much more than even playing Video Games or watching television. Let’s face it, there is just not many things better than going fishing with your Dad.
On the right is Luke on a fishing trip with his Dad and Zack to their area lake anxious to catch his first fish. On the left is Luke with a nice bass he caught. I guarantee you he is a happy fisherman at that moment.
Another of my favorite things to do was to go hiking in the great outdoors and study all the great things there are to be seen out there like scenery, flowers, mountains, wildlife and the like. Just getting outside and viewing as much of Gods creations as possible made me feel good inside. I think this trait Is shared by all my grandchildren who dearly love to be in the great outdoors also.

I just loved to go out into nature as a boy and catch lizards, horned toads, frogs, and the like, then study them a while and release them back to where they came from. Over the last few years I have seen that all my grandchildren also share this curiosity about natures wonders and actually make special trips to the great outdoors just to catch and inspect some of these wonders.
.
As can be seen, the grandchildren love any kind of critters found out there in the great outdoors. They would rather be doing this than inside playing video games any time.
So even with all the advance in technology with video games, computers, television, and the like, I find that my grandchildren love to do the things that I did when I was a boy better than any of the new stuff they have today. How about those apples! It’s simply more fun to do things in the great outdoors with family than anything else.
PS The squirrel war II squirrel count is now up to 57.
