Beavers Bend 2

Last night after we all had s’mores, we could hear the lonesome cry of the whipperwill sitting around the fire pit. We started singing that old Hank Williams song “I’m So Lonsome I Could Die” . What fun that was.  The kids all jumped in the Jaccuzzi hot tub on the lower deck outside and did some relaxing in the warm rush of the water. I would have jumped in there with them, but I was to tired from the day’s activities.

Wayco said he had a hard time getting everyone to look at the camera at the same time as they were having too much fun.

Grandma brought all the younger generation this bug holding screen case so they hunted bugs and later turned on the porch lights and chased bugs for a while on the porch that runs all the way around the perimeter of the cabin. They had the best time chasing critters and came up with some strange looking bugs.

I woke up this morning to a beautiful sunrise off of the back balcony, so I got up and snapped a photo before we started breakfast

It’s really nice to be out here in God’s country and wake up to this kind of sun rise beauty. Out on the balcony, I could hear several different birds calling out in the crisp morning air. What a pleasure to be here.

We had a great breakfast and then headed out to do a little fishing. We had to go down below the dam on Broken Bow Lake. The water was running over the dam making a beautiful falls all the way across. The water was ice cold and running very high even below the dam,. We caught a few fish, but no trout

Some of the small fish the grand children caught in the roaring water downstream of the dam water falls. They had a lot of fun.

Looks like another weekend of fun is coming to an end. We must pack up and move out tomorrow again. But, we can look forward to next year and another great summer reunion.
