Tamara’s Jump Rope

Some of us are born with a natural talent like no other,
My daughter Tamara could jump rope and clog together.
This poem describes a special talent that she perfected
And awed so many audiences that were deeply affected.

Tamara’s Jump Rope

.

When Tamara was going to Bartlesville Middle School
She thought the exhibition jump rope team was very cool.
She joined the jump rope team with her close friend Erin
And they were both very good at synchronized jumpin’.

 

.

Tamara was into advanced clog dance in her life with other teens
So she combined the two and wrote a clog dance jump routine.
She practiced real hard and had a unique act that was real hot
She put on a show at both clog and jump rope exhibition slots.

 

.

She practiced some more and just kept on getting better.
And she entered the Lions Club Talent Show, a real go getter.
She did an excellent job on stage while working real hard,
And won the grand prize trophy and a $1100 prize award.

 

.

Tamara was oh so very happy and decided to go for broke.
So she wrote an advanced clog dance for her jump rope.
The hand-foot coordination required was almost impossible,
But she worked hard and the result was just remarkable.

 

.

Tamara did the routine at all of our clogging exhibition shows
And the audience was mesmerized as their mind it did blow.
I saw the routine a hundred times as she did the advanced dance
While jumping rope and each time it put me in a deep trance.

 

.

We were at a clogging competition in Branson one year
And Tamara was practicing her clog jump rope in the lot there.
A talent scout from the Souji Tabuchi show watched her act,
And offered her a job on the show which she could not take.

 

.

Tamara performed the act at many clogging competitions.
And was requested to perform at every event with repetition.
The word got out and she was asked to perform nationally
At the National Clog Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.

 

.

We all enjoyed our trip to Nashville for Tamara to perform.
She completed her advanced clog jump rope act in perfect form.
And we were all so proud of her at the completion of the act,
That we all we out in Nashville to celebrate, and that’s a fact.

Tamara continued to perform with our Misques and Cuties group,
All over Northeast Oklahoma and southern Kansas on a big loop.
She was always the star of the show leaving the audience in awe,
With this very special talent she perfected on her own for us all.

 

.

To my knowledge, no other clogger was ever able to achieve
The difficult hand-foot coordination required, and I do believe
That she may have been the only advanced jump rope clogger ever.
Perhaps she will continue to hold the title until the 12th of never.
