Nicknames
My Dad always saw things a little different than most people. He often used nicknames to label things as he saw them in his eyes. I think I picked up the use of nicknames from being around him so much. Here’s a little of the story.
Nicknames
My Dad always used nicknames to describe things the way he saw them. When I was a baby he called me “squeedunk” and he called my sister JerrylDine, “tootsie”. He called my aunts porky wiener dog “piggy possum tail” ( refer to More Quickies blog). There was a guy that lived up the street from us in Phillips he called “No Ass Wallace” because he had no ass at all.
That’s ” Squeedunk ” on the left, “Tootsie” on the right, and “Chucky” in the middle. If you look close, you can see “No Ass Wallace” up the street.
I think the use of nicknames rubbed off on me and I often found myself referring to people and things by nicknames. When my oldest daughter Kristi was about 5 years old, I gave her the nickname of “Richardson”. I don’t know where it came from, but I often called her Richardson when I was playing with her. When my youngest daughter Tamara was about 5 years old I gave her two nicknames. The most prominent was “Junior” and the other was “Beasley”. My wife Pam often says I gave them both masculine nicknames because I was hoping one of them would be a boy. I don’t think this was true. They just seemed appropriate at the time.
This is “Richardson” looking beautiful in her prime ready to take the world by the tail and live life to the fullest.
This is “Junior” or if you will, “Beasley”, looking beautiful in her prime ready to experience life to the fullest extent.
.
I often call my wife Pam “Ldub”. This is a shortened version of “Little Woman” which first became “LW” and was then shortened to Ldub. Pam had a name for me which was “Tough Man” which she later changed to “TM” and then lengthened to “Ass Hole”.
.
That’s ” Ldub” wondering where I came up with that nickname that I call her so often. She’s already done a lot of living, but she still has a ways to go yet.
.
Our first little miniature poodle was called Monet’. I called her “mono ruder”. Our present dog is named Cutsie and I have always called her “Cutes “.
That’s” Junior”, “MaMo”, “Richardson”, and “Mona Ruder” relaxing on the sofa at the cabin in Colorado.
That’s “Cutes” cutting those eyes up and thinking….”Leave me alone I’m sleeping.
I have a lot of nicknames for other friends and family, but I will not share those for fear of offending someone who doesn’t understand that’s it’s all in fun.
.
Thanks for reading Nicknames.
