Deep Water
.
An old Bob Will’s song suggests Deep Water is a bad place,
When you drift on into it along your love life’s race.
But I found that Deep Water is a good place to be,
Stabilizing our run through life making it fun for you and me.
.
Deep Water offers a big variety of advantages for sure,
As we travel through life on our individual grand tour.
Looking to fulfill our own special dreams along the way,
With as few ripples as possible while here on our stay.
.
Deep Water
Deep water runs still traveling on its very long journey,
In the big rivers from the high mountains to the sea,
When it sometimes spreads out over the round rocks,
Ripples result that bounce us around giving us shocks.
.
So we are always seeking that deep water for our ride,
To keep things smooth with few problems down inside.
Lifes big problems are the ripples we often do find,
When we get to one side in rocky areas down the line.
Watch those ripples and protruding objects.
.
So focus on life with help from our good Lord up above,
To keep us traveling in that deep water we do love,
Avoiding those big ripples traveling along real smooth,
As we float on a straight path our problems to soothe.
.
I remember onetime when I was on the Rio Grande rafting.
A little too late in the year with shallow water splashing.
I ran over a sharp rock and ripped my raft bottom out,
Causing many very bad words so loud I did shout.
.
Just an indicator for me to stay in deep water to ride,
To prevent many problems not veering to the side.
Just living my life using my own good common sense,
Making sure the water is deep enough before jumping in.
.
When we see new waters with which we are not familiar,
Before we decide to dive head first into that new water,
Check to make sure the water is deep before diving,
Or you may hit a log with your head and cause crying.
.
So explore new things in your live before diving right in,
Or you might possibly not be able to dive once again.
So just be completely sure the water is deep enough,
Before plunging right on in making life a little rough.
.
I remember one time as I went swimming with the boys,
I dived into the nice lake head first with no poise,
Hitting a log with the right side of my young head,
Hidden from my view in unfamiliar waters as I bled.
.
I was lucky on that day I just got a big head knot,
From that glancing blow from that hidden log that I got.
So as you travel life’s road make sure you’re in deep water,
Before jumping in head first like you really ought to.
.
Be sure you stay in the deep water as you travel along,
And your life will be much smoother as you sing your song,
Without those unnecessary ripples and hidden logs,
Keeping you happier and safer as you write your blog.
