1997 Aces At Silver Dollar City

I ran across a hanging picture from 1997, a good year,
With candid photos of the Rhythm Aces on there,
From Silver Dollar City championship clogging competition,
Where we all competed and put on quite an exhibition.

We all stayed at the beautiful Honeysuckle Inn at Branson,
They put “Rhythm Aces” on the marquee seen by everyone.
Which really must have chapped Trailblazer’s team,
Because their team name was no where to be seen.

The next photo shows some of the Aces near Branson,
In the audience getting ready to perform for everyone.
We did a line dance called “I Like It, I Love it” so fine,
Taking home a trophy for our clog dance in a line.

We did “Big Balls In Cowtown” as our show routine,
Here’s Gary and Paula in their bull and cow outfits,
Along with the littlest cow, Brieanne, looking so sweet,
This was my favorite routine that to me was so neat.

The Aces did lots of good duets that year on the side.
Paulette and Fred did a buck and wing duet in stride,
To Bill Monroe’s “Big Sandy” instrumental so fast,
They did great out on that stage just having a blast.

Gary and I did “Too Old To Cut The Mustard” there,
With that loud fart at the first making everyone stare.
We got the second place trophy there on that day,
As Melby brown nosed getting first place that way.

After the competition, we went back to the motel,
The girls got into the Hot Damn liquor raising hell,
As we had fun in the rooms and laying out by the pool,
At the Honeysuckle Inn which we thought was cool.

That evening we went to B. T. Bones to celebrate,
All the trophies we won that we all thought were great.
We went there every year so they knew us quite well,
Even though we always did raise quite a bit of hell.

They played “Hanging Around”, a clog song we knew,
And Pam and I clog danced until the band got through.
We wore our patriotic outfits there for everyone to see,
As we clogged and two stepped there so happily.

I danced one dance with the littlest cow that night,
As she wore her dew rag out there looking so right.
We two stepped counterclockwise around the floor,
Then she grabbed her dad and they two stepped more.

Some of the Big Balls bulls acted up a little at B.T. Bones,
In fact they looked like they went into a goofy zone,
One was Kay, the littlest bull, wearing an utter in front,
Ellis was the other with those crazy eyes as he did grunt.
