The Great Outdoors
.
The Spring of the year awakens something in me,
Making me want to get to the great outdoors to see.
The wonders God has created to give is much joy,
So here’s a rerun that something made me deploy.
.
The world has so much great beauty for us all to enjoy.
Mother Nature has all kind of her wonders she can deploy.
We just have to seek them out on this our own home ground.
This poem describes a few of the wonders that I have found.

The Great Outdoors
I love the smell of honeysuckle on the vine on a morning so fine,
You get high on life from the sweet smell of the buds on the vine,
Out in the woods, I love the smell of pine from the tall trees,
You just want to lay down out there and enjoy the soft breeze
.
In the spring, I love the beautiful flowers of the dogwood tree,
It is like they are blooming so bright especially for me to see.
I wonder how one little tree can make so many flowers alone.
I think the spring must make them happy wanting to be shown.
.
The sunrise in early morning produces beautiful colors to see.
Making me feel good all over as I watch the show feeling so free.
There must a higher power out there directing this fine display,
As I am awed so deeply that I want it to stay this way all day.
.
The beautiful sunset in the evening can look like the world is afire.
The oranges, reds, and yellows blended to your hearts desire,
By God’s own hand to fill us all with a joy to lift our very souls,
Above the troubles of everyday life as it continues to roll.
.
When I see the majestic Rocky Mountains with snow on the peaks,
With the green trees, grassy meadows, and clear blue creeks,
I often get that natural high feeling like I’m floating in the air,
I don’t want to come down from my viewing point way up there.
.
The creeks from the mountains flow together making a river,
A home for the brown trout with beautiful ripples that quiver.
I just love to dry fly fish wading in the river in the great outdoors
Catching trout giving me a great feeling right down to the core.
.
In the fall of the year, God gets out his paint brush for the leaves.
He brushes over the trees and bright foliage colors He achieves.
It’s such a pleasure to see His wonderful paintings so grand.
I love viewing the bright fall colors of the foliage when I can.
.
The mountain lake reflects beauty of the area for all to see,
Like a giant mirror catching the landscape in all of its glory.
The rainbow trout make tiny ripples on the quiet still surface,
Disrupting a beautiful picture being reflected right back at us.
