November Toons

November Bigheads

.

Bigheads for my grandchildren is the name of my game,
The kids helped me some on new toons when they came.
You may be able to see their touch as you take a peek,
But, I’ll tell you as you read and
the kids touch you seek.

This first Bighead took goes by the name of Mason,
He was just a figment of my own creative imagination.
Perhaps an employee of a railroad driving those rail spikes,
Or if you desire, he can be anyone your heart may like.

Bolt is a punk rocker that seems to be guitar smashing,
While cutting loose with that acid rock tongue lashing.
His black hair is stringy and he is sort of an ugly dude,
I just figured a punk rocker would look pretty crude.

The Big Hands Bighead toon was named by Sarah Ann,
As she watched me finish him up after she just walked in.
This boxer with a cauliflower ear and a broken nose bone,
Must have had his last boxing match with Rocky alone.

Ralph is a real ladies man with a great big soft heart.
He’s as sweet as he can be painting with his word art,
While charming them by his nice gifts of Daisy flowers.
She will surely give him a sweet kiss within the first hour.

Sarah named this next Bighead toon Fat Bat Dude.
Ben and Sarah both defined his features so very lewd,
From his camo ball cap to his large poke a dotted shoes.
And Batman emblems, big nose hair, and dropping bird pooh.

MacGoo was from a memory of an old rich guy cartoon,
He was nearly blind always poking around with a cane too.
I guess the fact that now I can barely see to get around,
Brought this Bighead toon to mind as a vision so profound.

Luke and Zack set the features of this next Bighead toon,
From his long nose shaped like the crest of a new moon,
To the wart on his nose with the long hairs growing out.
Zack named this toon Elf Ear of that there is no doubt.

I used to go to the crawdad hole with Dad at age three,
Dad had a long sharp gig that he stabbed frogs with for me.
When we got back to the house, he fried these legs brown,
And I would watch those frog legs still kicking around.

The next Bighead toon is a cowboy out on the range,
Named Lester cooking up campfire coffee looking strange,
With his own special shape on his Stetson beaver hat,
Bent down in front so he can hardly see where he’s at.

Waldo is the next Bighead toon sporting a big old frown,
Because his wife has him painting instead of sitting down.
Won’t his wife be surprised after he paints the room red.
She may hit him with a frying pan knocking him down dead.

Rooster is the next Bighead toon with a squawking cock,
It looks like he’ll be having that chicken pot pie a la crock.
This guy must be from Texas from the tee shirt he wears,
And the big T on his sleeve, looking like he has no fear.

Pug is the next Bighead toon with a cute little pug nose,
He’s a new golfer lining up a tee shot in a very cool pose.
He’s got his cool dude Taylor Made golfing cap on his head,
And one of those Izod tight golfing shirts with a gator of red.

An Indian was named by the first thing he ever did see,
This Indian called Running Nose is happy as can be,
But wishes he would have seen a deer running instead,
Of his uncles nose dripping when he had a cold in his head.

Bolt is the very first in the line H J Comic super heroes.
This Bighead toon is from H J Comics edition zero.
Bolt has a lightning bolt rod to zap all of the bad guys he meets,
He’s got s full beard and a skin tight suit that looks sweet.

It’s Thanksgiving day and a pilgrim holds the turkey.
William is inviting the turkey for dinner the very next day.
With the native Indians that are living just down the road.
He’s hoping that his small turkey will carry all the load.

Big Beaver just came by and told William not to worry,
He’s headed out to spear a wild pig in a big hurry,
And he’ll bring a whole pig cooked down in the ground,
To share Thanksgiving with the pilgrim friends he found.

I had a flash back from the 1950s as I drew Hound Dog,
I’m sure you may recognize this toon from old Hawg,
He sang that rock and roll and wiggled his legs real fast,
The girls all went crazy when he shook his cute little ass.

In the 1970s, the Afro hair cut was worn by many men,
It was the cool cut of the Disco music times back then.
This Bighead toon called Afro was a dude from that time,
With a boom box blasting that music that did then rhyme.

The Bighead toon Switcher works for the B & O railroad,
He is carrying one of those big railroad lanterns of old,
To signal the railroad engineer to make the switch right.
An ‘okay to switch’ is one swing all around with the light.

Remember that kid from the Little Nancy comic strip,
That jumped in to save Nancy when someone gave her lip.
My toon Sluggo is how I remembered her good friend,
That kept her out of trouble when she ran along with him.

Maybe my Bighead toons that keep popping on out,
Are just a means to keep my old mind running about.
I think that if I sit idle and stop using my old brain,
My old body might just start feeling a lot more pain.
