More Misques
Misques and the Cuties ( refer to earlier blog) traveled all over North East Oklahoma entertaining different groups because we loved clogging and,we loved doing fun things with our friends. The audiences always gave us such warm welcomes that it seemed worthwhile. Here’s a little more of the story.

More Misques
The years 1994 through 1997 were very active and colorful years for Misques and the Cuties. We were giving performances up to three times per week. During the exhibitions, Linda was my partner and Gene was Pam’s partner because Gene and Linda couldn’t dance together without fighting. You will notice in all the pictures that Pam and I never danced together and that was the reason. Linda was our crowd pleaser. When she got tired of dancing she would just stop and start interacting with the crown. Because of her personality, the people just loved the interaction. We had more females than males in the group so Pearl agreed to be a male dancer in the same uniforms as the guys.
I have selected a small sampling of our exhibitions during the period from 1994 to 1997 to illustrate the large variety of places we danced and the different audiences we danced for. We did these exhibitions because we loved to clog and we always received a heart felt reaction from the audiences.
Misques dancing for a crowd of several hundred at May Fest in Tulsa in 1994. We did May Fest every year from 1992 to 1998. Looks like I have a pretty good snuggie that the ladies are snickering about.
Misque men checking out our brick in the yellow brick road in 1994 in Sedan, Kansas. We did the Sedan Exhibition so many years we got our own brick in the yellow brick road. We also marched in their parade every year.
That’s me pushing Linda in a brand new shopping cart at the grand opening of the Bartlesville Wallmart Super Shopping Center in 1995. We danced for a huge local crowd at the grand opening. Linda is getting the crowd going with her antics before we start.
We are performing for the Green Country Retirement Center in Bartlesville in 1995. Linda had her sunflower hat on that day. She enticed me into wearing one also. The 100 or so residents loved the show. Some of them even participated a little.
That’s Pam, the German beer mascot, Paulette, the show Master of Ceremony and Linda in 1995. We always had a huge crowd at October Fest in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The crowd was usually feeling pretty high, so they whooped and hollered louder that most crowds making this one of our favorite exhibitions. They always gave us free beer which made it even better. We did this one every year we existed.
This exhibition was at Coffeeville, Kansas, for their Neewollah ( Halloween spelled backwards) celebration in 1996. That’s Bill, Paulette, and R.L. facing the front in one of our circle dances. We did this one every year also. Sometimes it was a bit chilly.
Here we are dancing for the Nursing Home in Owasso in 1996. We did this one several times and the residents there always loved us. I think this is the exhibition that R. L. had severe gas and grossed us all out
Miscues performing for Kids Fest at Woolaroc in 1997. The temperature was about 102 degree F that day and we were all ringing wet when we finished. The kids always loved us. We did this one for five years running also. That’s Kristi on stage dancing with us.
The men dawning the ladies hats and parasol just before a performance in Miami, Oklahoma, at the Miami Fest in 1997. I think we looked better in them than the ladies did.
That’s Bill and Linda, Gene and Pam, and Fred and Paulette posing for the camera.
