Linda
As we go through life doing the things we love to do,
We often make close friends that like those things too.
This poem is about a friend we made called Linda,
That Pam and I thought was just so very splendid.
Linda
We met Linda clogging at Willow Hall in Tulsa Town,
Her and her husband Gene were just a little bit down.
They wanted more out of their clogging just like us
So we started “Miscues And The Cuties” causing a fuss.
“Miscues” was an old fart fun clogging exhibition team.
We wore funny colorful outfits as it was Linda’s dream.
Linda quickly became the “star” of our clogging show
With her funny antics and crowd interaction, you know,
That’s Linda in the red up front next to Hawg Jaw. Pam is just over her shoulder. Miscues are performing for the Green Country Retirement Center in Bartlesville.
We would be doing a routine and Linda would get tired,
So she would stop and with the crowd begin to conspire.
All eyes were then on her and soon they all laughed loud.
We kept on dancing while she entertained the big crowd.
Linda interacting the crowd at our exhibitions at various locations. The crowds loved her dearly and always went away with a smile on their faces.
Linda and Gene fought if they danced with each other,
So I danced with Linda and Pam with Gene like a brother.
This arrangement worked well and the war was ended.
We became a fun loving group again as we had intended.
Linda and Pam cutting up with old Doc Waters at the Yellow Brick Road celebration. They were trying to catch a ride with him in the parade so they wouldn’t have to walk.
We became close to Linda in the ten years we danced,
She loves to tell stories of her past specially enhanced.
We learned all about her and Gene as we traveled around,
What good friends we became as we covered that ground.
Look , it’s Linda and Pam cutting up for the crowd before our dance to open up the new Bartlesville Super Walmart.
Linda had her home decorated like none you have seen.
It was pure country style all the way and really very keen.
She decorated beautifully for each of the special holidays.
Making it a pleasure to visit their home on our nice stays.
When we ate out after our dance trips that we loved so,
Linda always wanted to eat outdoors on the cafe patio.
I can recall eating on the patio when it was freezing cold,
Because she was so hot natured as she was growing old.
I think Linda’s favorite exhibition we did during the year,
Was the October Fest where they gave us all free beer.
The crowd was a little high and enjoyed her special act,
Yelling, laughing and screaming at her and that is a fact.
That’s Pam, Paulette, and Linda cutting up with the two Octoberfest MC’s right before we danced.
We haven’t seen Linda or Gene for quite a long while.
With health problems and grandkids time to compile,
We don’t get around to see our old friends much anymore.
Perhaps it’s time we make a special effort to get to her door.
Linda and Pam with the wild animals at the Neewollah celebration at Coffeeville, Kansas. Linda was always right in the middle of anything going on in the area.
We love you girl, and we think of you often in our old age,
Our memories of our times together make a separate page
In a special spot in our hearts that we keep warm for you.
May God bless you and keep you and help you make it through.
