Bus Driver Bob

 

Being a school bus driver is a very demanding job because of the precious cargo you are carrying. Buffalo Bob did this job without a hitch after he retired from his regular job. I was so proud of the Buffalo that I wrote a poem especially for him.  I remember Buffalo Bob for taking such good care of those little darlings he transported for so long. A job well done Buffalo.

 

Bus Driver Bob

 

When Buffalo Bob retired, he just had to go to work. He searched high and low and found a job as a school bus driver. Since I had previously been a school bus driver in college, I gave him the heads up on having to clean up barf occasionally. That did not deter him and he got the job as a school bus driver for the Borger School system. So he became Buffalo Bob Bulldog school bus driver. I felt like this second career was worthy of a poem from old Bill so several of years ago, I wrote the following poem about him.

 

 

 

Bus Driver Bob

 

Buffalo Bob loved to drive his school bus
Even though the kids often made him fuss!
He made the kids mind all of the time,
Or he turned them in to keep them in line.

 

 

 

He loved the trips with his girly ball players,
Although they were often bad word sayers.
He proudly wore his bulldog booster shirt,
And the girlies with him did often flirt!

 

 

 

He drove in the bus rodeo with very much skill
Which gave the Buffalo Bob a great big thrill.
He even was awarded a driving skills prize,
Which was quite good for his fairly large size.

 

 

 

He had to get up before the sun rises
And pick up kids of all shapes and sizes!
Occasionally a kid puked on the bus,
And he cleaned it up while making a fuss!

 

 

 

He dropped them off in the afternoon,
So they colld go home and watch cartoons!
Then he sat at home in his easy chair,
And sipped on an ice cold Budweiser beer!

 

 

 

He then rested by taking a nice long nap
And went to a restaurant for some snacks!
He showered, shaved and hit the sack
And in the morning, the routine is back!

Buffalo worked his way to the top level of his second career. I believe he logged more trip miles than any other driver. If he had a couple of more years and he would probably have run the place. Buffalo Bob, Manager of School Transportation sounds pretty good.
