A Story Book Tale

A Story Book Tale

.
Here’s a poem about a fine young boy who had a curse on him.
It was simply a case of the “Hershey touch” that made him so grim.
He tried so hard to endure his pain resulting from the curse,
But his prayers did fail him and only made him worse at first.

There once was a pleasant young boy named John Boy Hershey.
He was a
young lad that had a curse on him with no mercy.
It haunted him day and night and he never got any real peace,
The curse was unbearable and all he wanted was for it to cease.

When he touched any kind of food with his small little fingers,
It would turn into milk chocolate with a small hint of ginger.
So poor John Boy always wore gloves when he ate all his food,
Rather than
eating chocolate for every meal so very crude.

People would come from all over the town bringing slices of bread,
For John Boy to touch and turn the loaves into chocolate they said.
The chocoholics loved that boy chasing him all over the block a lot.
Tiring to get John Boy to turn all their food scraps into chocolate.

There was a big company that shared his last name of Hershey,
That tried to hire him to turn grain into chocolate pellets, per say.
They offered him a million dollars a year to provide his service,
But all he really wanted was to be left alone in peaceful solace.

.

.

.

John Boy prayed to the Lord that his curse be lifted and taken away.
He had always been a good boy and from the bible he did not stray.
The next day he took off his gloves and touched a small pear.
It immediately turned to solid gold and he then shed many tears.

He had heard that story about the man that had a Midas touch,
And knew that his life would only get worse and he hurt so much.
He had not been specific enough with his prayers to the Lord,
So he was in much worse shape than he had ever been before.

.

.

.

He prayed to the Lord again with all of his personal conviction,
Telling Him more specifically what he needed with fine directions.
The next day he took off the gloves and touched a big banana,
Then he peeled it and ate it with gusto as he yelled Gloriana.

.

John Boy was now a normal lad living his life on Hershey’s Mountain.
He lived at home and he got a job at the drug store soda fountain.
Later in life, he got into politics and became governor of his state.
He ran for senator and was elected without a mud slinging race.

.

.

.

The people loved him so much and he then went on to be president.
He developed a record national debt as the White House resident.
He wished so many times he still had that Midas touch of old,
So he could have filled Fort Knox to the top with apples of gold.

.The moral here is that we should use our natural talent for good,
Rather than throwing them away a long time before we should.
Someday that talent may be just what we need to save the day,
So please take very much care before you just throw them awa
