Church Anyone?
Although I went to church with Mom when I was a young lad,
The things that went on there made me wonder if it was bad.
I decided that I didn’t need hypocrites preaching to me lies.
The poem describes things that went on before my own eyes.
Church Anyone?
When I was a boy, my Mom took me to church every Sunday.
I learned in Sunday School, things my Mom taught me her way.
She taught me right from wrong, good from evil, and how to live.
I learned not to steal, the golden rule, and not to receive but give.
.
As I grew older, I saw a lot of things I did not understand so good.
The preacher telling us to give, who drives a better car than he should,
His house is free and much bigger than the small one we live in.
And he wants us to tithe 20% of our money for a ticket to heaven.
.
I began to wonder if the church was even a suitable place to be,
Seems like there is something very rotten in this system to me.
I continued going to church at my Moms request and saw more.
I did not know what evil things would occur on the church floor.
Everyone in the church were rumbling about the terrible strife.
The preacher had been caught fooling around with a man’s wife.
This two faced man who preached against adultery every week.
Was doing the deed, and I lost all faith in churches feeling meek.
Believe it or not the same thing happened one more time there.
Preaching just to make a buck seems to be the fashion everywhere.
I know these things still go on in churches all over the place.
To be lied to by the Devils advocates is like an ugly slap in the face.
One of my engineering bosses lost his wife to a church preacher.
After an affair, she divorced my boss and married the sin teacher.
This stuff goes on and people continue to go to church lessons.
As if nothing happened and every one still has a ticket to heaven.
I believe teaching your children at home is very best way to go,
Your everyday actions and the way you treat others will show.
We have always lived our lives under God the way we should.
With an old family bible to read available on our table of wood.
So I don’t think you need to go to church to get to heaven fair.
In fact, my experience says hypocrite sinners may gather there.
So don’t be so fast to judge those of us don’t attend with you.
The guy sitting next to you may be after something from you too.
Hope to see you all in Heaven someday. I will keep a spot warm for you.
