The Rhythm Aces
.
Our friends got together and a clog group we did form.
Rhythm Aces were fun loving and far from the norm.
This poem is a story of the Aces and the things we have done.
I don’t think our fun times were ever topped by anyone.
.
The Rhythm Aces
The Rhythm Aces was a not so famous Okie clogging group.
We had a fun loving rowdy bunch and such a fine troop.
It was Kay, Bill, Pam, Gary, Paula, Ellis, Brenda, Fred, and Paulette.
Later Karla, Wade, Rob, Casey, April, Brenda and Bree joined our set.
.
No one had more fun in clog completions than The Rhythm Aces.
We did “Ida Red From Hell” really fast and it was off to the races.
The old farts of the clogging crew were pretty much worn down
Clogging the spirited fast clog dance going around and around.
.
We let it all out hang out, when we wrote our dances for show,
The ladies “The Hot Red Sweater” had boobs that did grow.
The girls were all hot, and Rob chased them all around the stage.
They beat Trailblazers for first place, who were then in a rage.
.
The guys did a routine called “Keep Your Hands To Your Self”.
Our costumes came from the Good Will Store clothes shelves.
Fred and I were cool looking dudes with big Panama hats.
Gary and Ellis were fine looking chicks just a little bit fat
.
“Big Balls In Cowtown” was the next show routine on our list.
The guys dressed like bulls and the girls like cows in distress.
Bill wanted to hang balls on the bulls, but the cows all said no.
So we just danced as steers and it was still a very good show.
.
“Baby Sittin’ Boogie”was a clog dance we just loved to do.
The girls were baby sitters in long shirts and petal pushers too.
The guys wore diapers with bright tops that were a bit too small.
There was baby bottles, bibs, binkies, and teddy bears for all.
.
Each year we did a hoedown that was put together as a group.
The hoedowns had calls to guide us as we moved like a troop.
“Squirrels to the center then back right out, swing that fuzz tail.”
Paula made the calls that kept us together, man we sure did sail.
.
One dance was “I Like It, I Love It, I Want Some More Of It.”
Red shirt and jean outfits we did wear well as our bodies were fit.
“Any Way The Wind Blows” was a favorite dance of mine.
We danced our little hearts out while clogging in that line.
.
.
Gary and I did a fine duet to “Too Old To Cut The Mustard”
The loud Fart was the highlight that kept us moving forward.
As we danced with our walking canes just flying in the air,
We won lots of trophies stooped over with hats and gray hair.
.
The sole purpose of Rhythm Aces was to have lots of fun
With good friends who also enjoyed all the fun on the run.
So many good times we had with all the people we loved,
We stayed very high on life with some help from above.
