Empty Trunk

Empty Trunk

.
After we took out those small things that we found,
The trunk was empty with everything spread all around.
We took a look at the last things that we pulled out,
And that’s what this particular trunk blog is all about.

There was a lock of Tamara’s hair at age 6 in there,
It was not curly, but straight, very fine and soft everywhere,
I remember that hair from our time in Odessa, Texas,
I recall a boyfriend named Hunter in one of her classes.

The trunk held a box with Pam’s early girlscout things,
She was in troop 307 learning what scouting did bring.
There were two of her pins and a gold badge there too,
She learned lots of things as she made it on through.

There was a set of sterling silverware Pam won in Borger,
At age 5 In the Little Miss Borger Contest all in order.
Her cousin Janell was in the contest with her too.
Pam said the runner ups got candy and it made Pam blue.

That’s Pam on the left with her Little Miss Borger Crown with silverware in hand. Her cousin Janell stands beside her.

We found Tamara’s Teddy Bear necklace as a girl,
When she was just learning to give her life a whirl,
I enjoyed life with my girls when growing up fast.
We had so much fun and joy in our lives in the past.

We uncovered Kristi’s baby turquoise bracelet and ring,
My, that first fine set sure was a very pretty little thing.
It seems so long since she wore that set with pride,
While all dressed up to go out in Pam’s arms on a ride.

We found some of Pam’s berets she wore as a girl,
Pam wore them when she went out into the big world.
They look quite simple, but they are all so very cute.
I believe they looked good with her best dress up suit.

Pam’s old Mitzi Doll was in there in the original box,
Pam’
s Mom made that dress making her look like a fox.
Pam says they couldn’t afford a Barbie Doll back then,
But she loved that doll she named Mitzi after her friend.

Pam’s sweet 16 birthday gift was in the trunk also,
It was a bracelet all loaded with charms for show.
She was happy on her sixteenth on her special day
And she felt like a queen that was now on her way.

We found Pam’s Borger Bulldog Highschool necklace,
She wore it proudly as she ran her highscool race,
With all the friends she made while attending the place,
With that cute little smile on her pretty little face.

In a sack stashed near the bottom were name tags galore,
From the square dance clubs where we danced before.
I had forgotten we had danced with so many clubs
Kicking up our feet so high with only a few little flubs.

There was just one more little item in the trunk so old,
That jarred a memory lose that had been so cold,
I think it will take one more blog to expand on it more,
So one more trunk blog will issue before I close the door.
